Ms. G's assignment yesterday was a tough one, clean out a house to make it move-in-ready for the new occupants.
It was not an absolute wreck, far from it, but after weeks of painters and flooring people and repairpersons of all sorts the toilets and kitchen sink were in rough shape, the tubs full of dust and grot and as always, the painters are supposed to clean up those spots but they never quite do.
The previous occupants had also left their fingerprints, splashes and splotches on cabinets and the child had gone to town on leaving hand prints all over one particularly hard to clean glass window (there were child safety latches on the lower cabinets of the kitchen and the prints were small, telling me at least one toddler aged person had lived there).
We dusted, and swept, and scrubbed, and mopped, and i about sandblasted those toilets into submission and they are now sanitary enough for anyone.
The worst part was the paint spots on the floors, all of which had to be scraped up by hand, one at a time, along with a few other things which had gotten stuck to the floors and would not come up without the very careful use of a metal scraper.
It took me and Sweetie about 6 hours of teamwork to make it happen and if this kind of work doesn't kill me, it will probably make me strong enough to reach 100+.
