The Plants Are Surviving and So Is He, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.  

Look what showed up!

Yes, the white laundry basket.  It seems Ms. V has purloined it and it is now considered hers.  Oh, well.

Carl was up muttering about a confirmation number.  It seems Ms. V didn't want him working in the cold and they got through to the third party company which manages leave for his work, and now he needed that number to actually call in to his store so they could excuse his absence.

Seems like a lot of trouble just for a day off work when it turned out to be sunny and beautiful here, but Carl had no problems sleeping most of the morning away.

Most.

He came in to brush his teeth, of course.  His last course of action is to grab the floss, and i told him to be sure it got in the trash.

He did try, he went over to the trash can and shook his hand over it to drop the floss, but the floss didn't let go until it was over the carpet.

Meanwhile, i found out he does not know you are supposed to take the Pez candy out of the wrapper to load it in the dispenser.

His fridge is still almost empty and he's going to be very disappointed with the rock hard sandwich he didn't put in a baggie.

He did laundry and hung some of it up.  He also hung up dirty clothes, but if they're inside out, who can tell?

Later, he came back in the room to put on deodorant.  I asked if he wanted a shower first, and he looked at me like i was crazy, so i asked why he was putting deodorant on and he said, "So I don't smell myself when I'm sleeping."

Well, alrighty, then.

Not long before it was time for me to leave, Carl got up to have breakfast and wanted to tell me about his weekend.

"Went to church," he told me and i asked which one, as he has a couple of them he shuffles between.  He told me and said, "Couldn't go back for the evening..."

There's an evening service there and i'm sure Ms. V wouldn't let him go in this weather.

"Watched Lord of the Rings..." he said, without telling me which movie.  "Then we played a game."

Ah, a friend must have come over at some point.  He proceeded to tell me all about the game, invisible trucks doing things, bad guys, hidden passages in the mountains, weapons, and someone in the game doing something which made him laugh so much i couldn't follow what he was saying.

No, there's no need to worry about Carl, he only has work one other day this week and the weather will be warmer by then.  He and his plants are doing just fine.

Parties, Parades and Plants, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.  

When i arrive at Carl's and the laundry room looks like this,

they've had a party and shifted the kitchen to the laundry room temporarily.

The candles were the give away it had to be someone's birthday and later Ms. V confirmed, it was their daughter-in-law's turn.

Once i realized all the clothing in there was dirty except what was already in the dryer, it was time to check Carl's room.

This is a new one, two styrofoam lunch box tops, but no boxes.

Carl still hasn't quite run out of cotton swabs.  Soon, though, unless he remembers to buy more.

I decided to sort laundry and get a load of shirts started before he got up from his sleep chair, and that's when i found a shoe i'd noticed was missing from the pile in the closet.

Once laundry was going, he finally came in and i asked him if he was ready for a shower, he said, "Coffee!"

Well,  coffee then, i told him, and he grabbed a box of single brew cups, saying, "But my friend didn't have a Kruger..."

A Keurig? i asked and he nodded.  Your dad has one, i told him, let's go make you a cup.

Once he had some coffee, he hit the shower and i tried the fridge.

The bags were mostly empty, the little in them not worth saving.  Once he got out of the shower, i asked him about the contents of the bowl.

"Peanut butter!" he said with a grin and i asked if he wanted a peanut butter sandwich for lunch.  He did.

Ms. V had bought some peanut butter, the rest was in the pantry, and in trying to get to the zip bags i had to move the cracker box.

It was covered with jam which i cleaned, wondering if it would do any good to give Carl his own pantry.  Probably not, if he ran out of anything he'd just go help himself from the main one, as he does with linens.

He was out of the shower and i'd swathed him in an apron when it was time for me to ask about the missing lunch boxes.  He had no clue they were even missing, so i grabbed the car key and went to see if they'd been left out there.

No lunch boxes, but the purple coat which has been missing for weeks, which he said he could not find, was in the trunk of the car the whole time.

I pulled out one of the new lunch boxes i'd brought him from the cat shelter, where they just throw them out when they get shipments of meds in them.

As i worked he talked.  He wants to go to parades this weekend.

Be careful, i told him.  You need to stick to the family friendly ones in the neighborhoods.  He just grinned at me, so i don't know what he's planning.

As he was trying to get ready, i noticed him smearing lotion on top of his socks.

Carl, i told him, the lotion will do you no good on the top of the sock, it needs to go under and be on your skin to help.

"Really?" he asked, although he probably knows.  He pulled his socks down and managed to get some lotion on his itchy shins, but how much is anyone's guess.

He asked about gloves.

There were three, one had been stuffed inside one of the others and i'd separated them.  Then he wanted sunglasses.

Nope, i told him, you lost them all and need to buy another box.

He grabbed a vest and i reminded him to get his rain coat, too, it was in front of the door.  Later i went to look, and he'd grabbed the rain coat but left the vest on the floor.   It's okay, he has four more safety vests in the car.

Finally, his plant.

I feel sorry for it and was wondering if anyone knows what this plant is, and what it needs, because it certainly needs help.
