Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.    

This month, the prompts are being provided by Elephant's Child.

“What’s wrong?  Cat got your tongue?”

“No, just dog tired.”

“Now that you say it, you do look sick as a dog.  Is everything okay, or do you have something you need to tell me?”

“Curiosity killed the cat, you know.”

“Awww, c’mon, let the cat out of the bag, would you?”

“Don’t push it, you’ll be opening a can of worms.”

“You can’t leave it like this, not with the elephant in the room.”

“What elephant would that be?”

“We don’t say the C-word, remember?”

“No, I do not have the virus.  I’ve just been busy as a bee and I’ve let myself get run down.  I need a few days off.  Now you look as happy as a dog with two tails to wag!”

“Because I know what will make you start to feel better, along with time off, of course.  I’m going to go bake your favorite cookies, that will set you right.”

“You’re a one-trick pony, but that trick is so good it’s the only one you need!”
