It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
When you're a housekeeper, you find out things about people just from getting to see inside their lives in ways others don't. That, and people tell you things, kind of like they tell the barber, hairdresser, or bartender.
Not long ago, one client was talking about her car. It's an older model that still runs well because she doesn't drive a whole lot and she takes care of it. She said, "I love my car! It's like a good old pair of bedroom slippers."
Another was waiting for her daughter to come take her somewhere. The daughter walked in and said, "How does someone who hasn't had a bath in 3 days look so fresh?" The mom answered, "I haven't left the house in over a week, so I don't go anywhere to get dirty, and I fluff up a lot!"
Yesterday, Ms. PA confessed to me, "I still have my Christmas wreath up. It still looks fresh and pretty and I took down the tree because it was in the window, but I like my wreath. It's not even losing any needles yet."
Well, i told her, it has a gold ribbon and gold works for Mardi Gras, so if you like it, leave it up.
"Thank you, you made me feel better!" she said.
All part of the job.
Now, how about some of those things Grandma sends me.
Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

ReplyDeleteGod bless always.
Oh man, those floors. Yes, you learn lots obot other people by regular interation in that way. (I once cleaned stairs - surprising how múch I learned!)
ReplyDeleteLOL! Those are some great funnies. Mom totally forgot about filling up in the back of the car. I bet you do learn a lot and hear a lot cleaning for people. Here you would learn there is a lot of fur in the house!
ReplyDeleteMimi,
ReplyDeleteI'd saying being a housekeeper is interesting work. I mean, cleaning one's own home isn't interesting but to clean another persons'...it's evident by some of your stories how interesting it is. :)
I love the floor art - so realistic! I'd love to see something like this up close. The Pointers & Setter and the husband relaxing memes cracked me up - great stuff! Thanks for the laughs. We all need a lighter spirit these day and humor is the ticket!
That last one was the very best!!
ReplyDeleteAll are great as always. Yes I had a car where gas was pumped behind the license plate but I never pumped it...the station attendant did. I agree with Tabor that the last one was the best. LOL I know what idiot the clouds are looking down on.
ReplyDeleteYes, you have some interesting clients! Love those floors.
ReplyDeleteI love your interactions with your clients. Such fun.
ReplyDeleteLove all the funnies. My favorite was the guy in the doghouse after winning an argument with his wife.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Big hug, my friend. ♥
What a fun post and Grandma sends the most delightful photos ~ love the 'do you knows?' Happy Week to you ~ ^_^
ReplyDeleteMoment by moment,

aka (A Creative Harbor)
CRACKED UP at the cloud saying !!! the painted floors are great; I've seen some of these works around the blogsphere in the past and they are amazing; some of them do make you stop in your tracks before walking on !! ☺☺♥♥
ReplyDeleteBwa!! Haa!! Haaa!!! You made coffee come out Mom's Nose! We LOVE it when coffee comes out her nose! Especially the Clouds! Have a wonderfully Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteShe could also add a few red hearts for Valentines Day! Great photos- from Grandma= especially the one with the husband relaxing after having a discussion with his wife! hahah Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteI am sure you have to be like a psychologist to some clients. :) That makes me sad about cows. XO
ReplyDeleteI love that Tri-Triangle house and the curl on the surf wave.
ReplyDeleteHmmm... my comment disappeared (after getting a 'broken' Blogger icon followed by a 'your comment was published') Things that make you go "Hmmmm!" So I'll try again... ;)
ReplyDeleteI've always thought that the amazing people who clean houses would definitely be akin to a hairdresser or bartender - even more so, as they get to see everyone's deepest, darkest (and dirtiest) secrets! ;)
LOVE all the pictures - my favorites are the floating forest, and who know cows have best friends?! :)
