It All Works Out, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

Keeping a list of thankful things is really helpful now when i get to Thankful Day.  No more wracking my brains to remember details, and i am thankful for that, as my brains are tired by Friday night.

Last Saturday it was Sweetie's day to go with me to Grandma and Grandpa's house to clean, so we got it done by lunch time and got home early enough for a feets up session.

Becca did well enough on Sunday morning that we got to go to church.  That means she took her meds, brushed her teeth, got dressed and did it all without a fuss.  It really was a good morning for her.

That afternoon, we had to work on getting the phones working again.  The week before, it was Bigger Girl's phone that suddenly would not accept phone calls.  This week, it was my phone and Sweetie's that suddenly quit sending texts with attachments.  We are thankful tech support can reset the network and get things working again.

My Wednesday lady, Ms. G, was to have a dentist appointment on Wednesday, so i got Ms. S to swap days.  Going to Ms. G's on Tuesday was unusual, but it worked out well and she even had the energy to get me to help clean out two cabinets that she's been wanting to sort and tidy.

That afternoon, #1 Son stopped by to get his mail, and i am always thankful to see him.  He's doing very well.

The shelter is almost empty (seemingly) these days, as it's not kitten season quite yet.  That meant i got the shelter done early on Wednesday, got to the laundromat as soon as it opened, and then got to Ms. S for "big cleaning" day.  Even with all that, i was thankful to get home over an hour earlier than usual.

Because i was home earlier than usual, i was there when #2 Son showed up to pick up some things from his room.  He had excellent news, he is being promoted officially into management and will be on salary as of February 1.  

Mr. Mike, the Generator Guy, called me last week to ask if i'd sent him any money yet (he was in California installing generators for over a month).  Yes, i told him, i sent a $100 money order in your Christmas card.

He hadn't received it.

While that's not a thankful thing, i am thankful that it has not been cashed yet (i checked online), so it might still show up.  If it does not, for $25, i can have it cancelled and refunded.  Yes, i know that means i really only get $75 back, but it's better than nothing.

Also, when Mr. Mike came to check on the generator, Sweetie gave him what was supposed to have been the second installment, and he told us it was not a rush, he doesn't expect us to come up with the money that went missing right now.

Thursday i got the nasty surprise that, now our phones would sent texts with attachments again, voicemail had stopped working.

Once again, several calls and a good bit of time with tech support, and it's all sorted.

Next week, i will be doing a final cleaning for some friends who are moving out of state.  Since it's a final cleaning of their apartment, they will be gone and there will be no vacuum cleaner available there.  Since Little Girl swiped ours we've been making do with one that just won't be enough for a final cleanup, so i am very thankful Ms. GA is going to lend me her spare.

To top off the week, when i got to the shelter Friday evening, they had a dozen cans of cat food waiting for me that someone donated and they could not use.  Trust me, we can always make use of them!
