"Dagnabbit!"
"Is something wrong?"
"Yes, the vacuum cleaner, this filter keeps popping out, I'm telling you, you need to get someone who knows how to service it to fix it properly or you will burn out the motor and lose it."
"Who could fix that old thing?"
"I know someone, he's reasonable in what he charges, and these old Kenmore vacuums are worth taking care of."
"Well, I'll think about it."
Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Service.
(The conversation i keep having with Ms. G about her old vacuum; yes, she has been thinking about it for a couple of years now, it's a tribute to Kenmore vacuums that it is still running!)

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
If you don't think it's cold up here,
Well, let me tell you this,
I've turned into a frozen lump,
Not my idea of bliss.
I'm going to go where I can thaw
And get a lot of sun,
As far south as hitching can get,
To Florida, for fun!

ReplyDeleteMy heavy duty vacuum refused to work after many years of good service. I overheated a cheap vacuum and blew the motor. Recently, I got a new vacuum and it is working nicely. Beautiful azalea blooms. Instead of going to Florida, maybe the snowman can pay a visit to my place. Lol! Have an enjoyable day.
ReplyDeleteNice verse, it made me think of the snowman from Frozen.
ReplyDeleteI love your fences too, what a pity that Gosia is still missing.
Fascinating post! Cagney & Lacey were big favourites of mine.
ReplyDeleteStrong solid fence.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The hitching snowman is so great! Love that idea! Sears had great appliances and tools for so many years. It is a shame those things are no more. Hope the vacuum can get fixed before it dies.
ReplyDeleteAmazing, our old vacuum still works too, they don't make much of anything like they used to. Great poem and a yummy thankful. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteHa,ha,ha, Florida. It would become of the ocean and beach. Have a great day Mimi.

Yesterday I got to visit my sister for the first time in 6 months. She is only an hour away but we have put off seeing each other until now. We both have our COVID vaccines. YAY!
ReplyDeleteThose old vacuums are worth saving!
ReplyDeleteThat is impressive it keeps working. I have never had a vacuum last longer than a year so now I use a shop vac. as I only have 2 braided rugs. Cute poem.
ReplyDeleteOh yes- get that vacuum some help Mrs G! The snowman photo and your poem to go with it made me smile- if he ever gets a ride to Florida he'd better travel in a bucket! Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI used to go to Sears for Kenmore appliances for years. Good stuff back in the day.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem and pizza is always good. We don't go to pizza parlors anymore, we just make our own. Covid sure has changed how we eat. It's a good thing.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday. Big hugs. ♥
Cute 6, Mimi. And yes! Those old Kenmore's will last forever. As long as you've got someone who knows their vacuums to work on them, of course :)
ReplyDeletePoem is so... on point for anyone who lives in the northern climes. That picture brought a smile.
Pizza! Always say yes to pizza :D
glad you got that tasty thankful discount and nice poem
ReplyDeletedagnabbit! Great six, great fence and Aretha!!
ReplyDeleteTHose old vacuums run forever. Good luck finding someone to fix the new ones, and they need fixin a lot.
ReplyDeletelove it when Sixes involve reality and fiction*
ReplyDelete*I'm thinking of a TToT that mentioned a vacuum cleaner**
** thank you for not adjusting my reality... even if you didn't actually write anything about a vacuum... lol
You know it is really cold when even the snowman wants to head to Florida!
ReplyDeleteCan you help Mrs G arrange to get that vacuum fixed?
Malfunctioning vaccuum cleaners, a hitch-hiking snowman and pizza! It's all happening here today!
ReplyDeleteThe sort of conversation that happens all over the world every day!
ReplyDeleteAnd the old Electroluxes. Great machines and there used to be people who would service them so they'd last and work great forever. Can't stand the newer ones with the faulty filters. My new favorite and a true contender for top vacuum is the Shark.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to kill a Kenmore.
ReplyDeleteI love your frozen lump poem...re the vacuum you made me think of my old dog skips who loved to ride around on the cannister of the vacuum@
ReplyDeleteI just love your poem for Sammy's Poetry Day.....it's adorable and fun to read out loud! Thanks for being poetic with us every week.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
"Dagnabbit!" is such a great word. Love the Six. I can remember old model Hoover vacuum cleaners in the family which ran for years.
