It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Carl has talked his work into giving him summer hours.
He's not just a special needs adult in things like communication and functional capacity, he is also quite heat sensitive and his skin breaks out over everything. Working to round up shopping buggies in the parking lot in summer here is an endurance test.
He can only work 4 hours a day, in winter it's generally 8-noon, in summer they've moved him to 7-11am.
This means when i arrive at 6am, he's already up and eating and i have much less time to pack him up and shoo him out the door.
Yesterday, it was pancakes. He was out of syrup, but that's not a problem.
Who needs pancake syrup when there's cake frosting available? |
When i tried to put away the Wheaties box, i found a surprise.
You'd expect a Wheaties box to have Wheaties, right? |
Unless Carl hid the crackers in there. |
He has a new trick with the laundry. When he pulls his shirt off, it's inside out. In all likelihood once he has pulled it off, he gets distracted, then forgets that the shirt is dirty. Because it is now inside out, it looks clean to him and back on a hanger it goes. Yesterday i pulled 3 such shirts off hangers and got them to the washer just in time as the load was starting.
It's in summer that he is most likely to grumble about wanting a different job. The problem would be finding something that would fit his abilities and available hours.
Speaking of summer jobs, how about some funnies.
Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

I never had summer break jobs, I just lazed around, but when I left school at fifteen, I got a full time job in a dairy factory, no more summer breaks for me.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smiles. I worked all of my school holidays for years.
ReplyDeleteI am glad that Karl's employers are happy to rearrange his hours for him.
Mom has always had jobs that are year round. She would prefer a job with the summer off, or just a few weeks completely off anytime, but with your own business, that isn't going to happen. Good luck with Carl and his laundry, LOL!
ReplyDeleteGreat funnies. Thanx.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I hope you didn't throw out the Wheaties box. Lots of them are collectible. Love all your funnies.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the summer funnies. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteI enjoy when you tell us about Carl. He's a very interesting individual just like my daughter.

ReplyDeleteCarl is always the subject of a good story. I think he would be very happy if he knew just how many people all over the world whose days he makes better
I figured you would have twice as much work to do at Carl's this week. Great bunch of funnies.
ReplyDeleteCarl is really something, but in a kind and good way. Those were good funnies too.
ReplyDeleteI knew I would smile here. Thank you and thanks for the prayers. ROger will have a brain surgery tomorrow at 7:30 A.M. Please pray hard. He is in for a fight for his life. But I know the neurosurgeon who is doing this surgery. He followed me in the 1980's after my neurosurgeron moved to California. He is a humble man and gives all the glory to God. I am thankful for this bit of sunshine in this storm. Take are. I miss all your fun antics and Carl stories and all the rest. God Bless you. I will be blogging again wehen my mind is calmed. Love to you.
