2. A pet peeve of mine at this time of year is that we give people who already have way too much stuff even more stuff.

4. I never jumped on the latest hot toy bandwagon when my kids were little. To tell the truth, they were seldom interested in the “toy of the year” that everyone else had to have. Made my life easier, too.

ReplyDeleteI remember those years of the have to have toy. We never catered to our kids that way either. However, when the Cabbage Patch Doll was so popular, I saw it from the retailer's side of the fence. Back then, we had to order all the toys in May. We went to a toy show for Western Auto Dealers and had to guess which toy would be "the toy '. We only ordered one case (12) of the ugly patch dolls. We only got one doll and had hundreds of requests for the doll. We secretly sold it to the first woman who had asked for one.

I adopted Lola 15 months ago and it was tough a first because I was missing Angel so much, also Lola had a few problems that needed sorting (Hayfever, IBS), but things got better and I love that she sleeps in the bed with me when the weather is cold, gets under the covers and snuggles up by my ribs.
