The chocolate syrup bottle wasn't supposed to slip out of my hands while i was putting everything away.
It hit the cat food bowl, which was just a small, disposable foam bowl anyway, and mushed it flat (don't worry, the chocolate was just fine).
All this happened while Ms. S was trying to talk to me over the very loud TV, and the washer and dryer were going, and it was one of those moments where you can't hear what someone is saying to you and you get distracted.
Of course, it wasn't that big a deal, i grabbed another foam plate and swept up the cat kibble and got on with things.
When i came home, i looked up one of the spare cat food bowls i keep, a proper little plastic bowl that is more durable, and put it in the car.
Tomorrow i will take it over there with me, and Kiki will have a decent bowl again, since we aren't allowed to use the ceramic bowls for the dry food, only for the canned.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
If it's romance you want,
You'll find this to be
The place to visit
With your sweetie.
Come stay with us
And I will bet
We'll show you a time
You'll never forget!

Nice of you to provide a sturdier bowl for the cat kibble. Lola has hers in a ceramic bowl, my kitchen is so tiny I sometimes manage to step on it and that kibble just rolls everywhere.
ReplyDeleteI wish Jazz would agree to a bowl - but thank you for replacing Kiki's.
ReplyDeleteYay! Kiki will be getting a proper food bowl. Glad the chocolate syrup didn't spill or the bottle broken. Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteAn accident with a happy ending!
ReplyDeleteI guess it is better than lying on the wall to dry oneself.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
As long as the chocolate was ok! lol Sometimes it takes a near "disaster" to make a change, no matter how small. Kitty has a new dish :D
ReplyDeleteYour poetry never fails to bring a smile.
There's 3 other people thankful for your thankful :)
We were expecting chocolate to be all over the place. Glad only the cheap plate was ruined in the "fall". A plastic bowl sounds like a much better solution.
ReplyDeleteYou're so kind to get a proper food bowl for the kitty. You're so thoughtful.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem and the thankful. It's good when the kids can visit their grands.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, my friend. Big hug. ♥
That was a good cat bowling story and a good poem too. I'm glad #1 Son will get to go visit. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeletegood six, good fence, and i wonder if Ferdinand von Zeppelin had any idea what disaster lay ahead.
ReplyDeleteVenoce ... you turned on my longing with that picture and poem. Big sigh. I just hope I am still able to travel when (if?) normal returns.
ReplyDeletePS: love your poem and I am happy that nothing happened to the chocolate.
And that should have been Venice! Clumsy fingers, sorry.
DeleteWhat a lovely photo, I just love Venice. Good thing the chocolate was OK - MOL!
ReplyDeletegreat story mimi; and I;m sure miss kiki appreciates your gesture... I tried to "big a fy" photo one to see....what is in front of the tree...can't tell !!!!.....rather looks like someone is standing there !!
ReplyDeleteGood sentences and nice poem. Purrs
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about excessively loud televisions that are inordinately more distracting than equal number of decibels from, say a passing truck or a dog insisting, from the inside of a picture window, that deer are not welcome on the front lawn?
ReplyDeleteLovely fence photos and sweet thankful ~ great story and poem ~ Xo
