Linking up with Wordless Wednesday and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.
This month, the prompts are being provided by lissa at The Memory Tourist.
This week’s prompts are
water
gather
flood
memory
linger
solace
enigmatic
neighbor
cold
destruction
The WATER keeps coming, and coming, and coming.
That time, it was almost 14 inches in just a few hours, another FLOOD was inevitable. Today, it poured from the heavens in buckets, but only for about a half hour, leaving puddles everywhere.
The water will GATHER in low spots and LINGER for days in some places. It can cause unbelievable DESTRUCTION.
It seems now, as soon as one of these episodes becomes a MEMORY, another one occurs.
The elements are COLD, they don’t care what they take from you.
If there’s any SOLACE, it is that your NEIGHBOR understands, we help each other through. We’ve all either been there, or had it happen to friends and loved ones. No one is untouched.
We’ve had more rain this year than normal, and there’s no knowing how long this pattern will hold, or if it is the new normal. The climatologists and meteorologists are ENIGMATIC, not wanting to say too much.
While i’m sorry today’s words led me in this direction, it’s was inevitable. The flood plane is changing here, areas that used to be safe aren’t so any more.
Summer, and the storm season, aren’t over yet.

ReplyDeleteHave a mintsaucetastic week 👍
That is a beautiful, skilful, and truthful use of the prompts.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you are getting repeated floods. We have been getting record rainfall too this year. The roads in and around town keep flooding. We live near the top of a hill so the worst we suffer is a waterlogged garden.
ReplyDeleteA nice bit of French wordplay, very chic indeed! As for rain, we had a week's worth in two hours the other day!
ReplyDeleteNice apron. I like it.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
We have a big drought but it seems whenever we have things to do outdoors this year it is raining which doesn't make sense. The weather pattern changes are not very nice here either.
ReplyDeleteThere are a few great old barns in our area, but they are quickly disappearing from the landscape.
ReplyDeleteThere comes a time when age will tell us that National Nude Day is nothing to celebrate. Just sayin'.
Have a blessed week.
Second try on leaving a comment. Blogger sucks.
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the prompts. You do these so very well, but having to much rain isn't good at all. I hope it slows way down.
I didn't get the graphic. Went right over my head.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Big hug. ♥
In honor of barn day, I will visit the zoo, but I think I'll keep my clothes on.
ReplyDeleteLove the sheep! That was a terrific and scary story, we hope the rains give it a rest.
ReplyDeleteI hate heavy rain falls and flash flooding. It makes me think of 1977 in southern WV when our county was destroyed. That was really scary. Good job with the prompts.
ReplyDeleteStorm season has certainly cause a lot of flooding in our part of the country this year. Although I don't understand the Tres Sheep, I think the embroidery is probably amazing! xoxo
ReplyDeleteIT WOULD BE NICE IF THERE WAS A WAY TO SEND SOME OF THAT WATER.... WEST ~~~~~ STAY SAFE ~~~~
ReplyDeleteTHE TOWEL IS THE BEST :) ♥♥☺☺
Home had some horrendous flooding this year. Terrible rains and flooding, my brother posts me photos.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful photo love
ReplyDeletewow what a clever apron! And a scary tale about flooding. Yikes! Take care!
ReplyDeleteGreat job with the story. And I thought we had a lot of rain. :)
ReplyDeleteA clever way to weave the words into a true story. I wish there was more we could do about the climate change and things like flood plains. I heard over in England, London got a month's worth of rain in just a few hours, flooding streets and shops. England is a rainy country, so a month's worth is a LOT of rain.
ReplyDeleteI like the sheep on the towel. You are good with the word prompts. We are at the beginning of another monsoon season. Heavy downpour and thunderstorm are expected and low lying areas will be flooded. We won't be needing the air conditioner for a while.
ReplyDeletefun 'chic' towel ~ yes ~ the rain have fallen too much in New England too ~ weather is erratic everywhere ~ sigh.

Fun towel! I love things like this. Flooding is awful. U losy a cat once in a flash flood. Thank goodness a guardian angel picked me up and took me to safety.
