There's just something about a pet, isn't there.
Right now, it's Coda, Little Girl's dog.
No matter how tired i am when i get home from work, she can charm me into taking her for a good walk and a run through the field across the street.
It's just about impossible to say no to those puppy eyes when she begs for treats.
If we didn't have cats sleeping in our room already, i know she'd find a way to be in our bed with us.
Now if you'll excuse me, it's time for our puppy ride around the neighborhood with the windows rolled down -- there's so much to see and smell around here!

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!
This fence up the road surrounds a very nice back area.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
I do enjoy living this close to the sea,
In my lovely house on stilts.
I'm practically a mermaid, you know,
So we're right on the sand and silts.
When the tide goes out, I wade right in,
When it's in, I go further in still,
I feel most at home here at water's edge,
I don't want a big house on a hill.

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. It's time to share something for which i am thankful.
Today i am thankful to be able to take Little Girl's car in for an oil change while she's away. Since she allowed me to use it for Christmas weekend (making it possible for me to get to NOLA early), i'm going to return it in better shape than i found it.

How I would love to live close to the see.
ReplyDeleteAnd of course Coda has you wrapped around her paw.
Who can resist those puppy eyes! I'd love that house by the sea too. All the best, and read you next year, Mimi!
ReplyDeleteYou can't get any closer to the sea than that house! I love it :)
ReplyDeleteCompromise ... wooden fence, metal gate.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
We pups have a way of laying guilt trips on our humans. Mom would work a lot more if we didn't let her know we wanted to take our evening walk or go outside and play during the day. It is good for us dogs and the humans we live with. Relax and enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a strange place to build a house. But I love your poem!
ReplyDeletePerfect lifeforms, yo, perfect lifeforms
ReplyDeleteMimi,
ReplyDeleteGood poem! I've always marveled over houses built on stilts on the water's edge but you know I don't think I could rest comfortably in such a home. I don't like it storms on dry land and I know turbulent weather near the water can be lots worse. Have a blessed new year, dear friend!
Coda has a way to melt your heart. I know the look. Lol! I like the poem.
ReplyDeleteI can't have pets in my loft which I why I get so much pleasure reading about yours!
ReplyDeleteI love living just a few steps from the sea, but I'd give anything for a house even closer like that one!
Sweet post with lovely photos and poetry and thankfuls ~ Xo
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Happy and Healthy New Year,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
I know all about those puppy eyes. Can't say no.
ReplyDeleteLove the poem. I could be on the beach or up on the hill. I just want the view of the ocean.
You're so good to take care of your daughters car. She'll appreciate it.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, my friend. Big hug. ♥
I'm glad you're enjoying the Coda pup time and I know Coda is loving it too. Cute poem and an excellent thankful. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteAwww good for you to take those puppy walks together, your daughter was so kind to lend you her car and repaid her by being kind also! A house on stilts right in the water? Wow what an amazing thing to do! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteThere sure is, Mimi! Dogs have a special magic and charm especially when they want to go for a walk :D
ReplyDeleteOh, to live once again by the water. Maybe not that close, lol
Nice story. Pets are always appreciative of what we do for them. Great poem too. ANd how sweet of your daughter to loan you her car and you to get an oil change for her. XO
ReplyDeleteCoda is just like Cinnamon! And I LOVE your Poem about the house beside the sea. We are thankful for you! Mimi - you ROCK!
ReplyDeleteA lovely story. :-)
ReplyDeleteLove dogs. I'm trying to have my son get one so I can get the puppy love from time to time without the puppy work and responsibility...kind of like grandchildren.
ReplyDeleteLove your sweet pups! This bunch gathers round like they never had a treat! I am too generous so a few of the pups are needing to watch their waistline so everyone's treat was cut in half. D R A T !
ReplyDeleteLove the poem.
Love the photos and especially love your kind and giving heart.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2022 - enjoy many thankfuls too.
HUGS and LOVE
Briliant (as always!) poem....by the sea and IN the sea are decidedly two different things when it comes to where you want your house! LOL
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year
Hugs, Pam and Teddy
