Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.
Grandma and Grandpa both have mobile/cell phones, and both still have the landline phones they’ve had for years. (Grandpa’s landline has been the same number since 1969.)
When the landlines ring, you can’t tell which it is just by the sound. If Grandpa is at his desk or sitting on his bed watching TV, he knows when his rings and answers it. If neither of them can see the phones, they wait to hear the automated voice announce the number or name.
Names and numbers they recognize make one or the other of them get up and go for the phone. Names or numbers they don’t know have them trying to wait each other out to see who is going to go check which phone is ringing. Usually Grandpa can’t stand it, he just has to know, he is afraid to miss an important call. Grandma just says, “Let him get it, if it’s for me and it’s that important, they’ll leave a message!”
Thibodeaux done come by an’ he ax if’n Boudreaux want to come wit’ him to run de errand.
Boudreaux agree, an’ he get him up from de table an’ be headin’ out de wit’ Thibodeaux when Thib say, “Boudreaux, you done lef’ you cell phone on de table.”
An’ Boudreaux wink at Thibodeaux an’ say, loud ‘nuff for Clothile to hear, “Dat be okay, I be leavin’ it wit’ my answerin’ service.”
Den Clothile say, “You know you be gettin’ you de look, right?”
An’ Boudreaux say, “Mais, I know, but dis time it be worth it!”

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files. The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please. It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.
#2 Son’s motorcycle (a/k/a mama’s heart attack).
Some rEcess fun.
Last Wednesday, when i arrived at the shelter, i saw this.
My heart sank, thinking it was yet another cat abandoned at our door on a frozen night. After i donned gloves and went to deal with it, i was relived to find this.
This one is the truth.
A couple of sky shots for good measure.
Have a blessed and beautiful Sunday, everyone!

ReplyDeleteLOL @ the joke never fails to make me larf :-)
I liked all the different mixes of photos too :-)
Have a landlinelesstastic Sunday 👍
A wonderful selection.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant skyscapes.
I am very pleased that the container DIDN'T have a cat in it.
ReCess looks like a heap of fun - and I have no shelf control either.
A nice selection of photos. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I love Sunday's because I can't wait to read about
ReplyDeleteBoudreaux, Thibodeaux & Clothile.
Cruisin Paul
I need a sign like that!
ReplyDeleteNice surprice and funny joke. Thank you!
Our shelter dog is doing well except for a bad case of dermatitus. She goes back in two weeks and we wait for the formal adoption process after our trip. I agree with grandma...they can leave a message.
ReplyDeleteCute joke. Glad someone else still has a land line. :) Glad that was donations and not an abandoned pet. Hope your son stays safe on the motorcycle. XO
ReplyDeleteFun Cajun joke and what a gift you found at the shelter door ~ so glad it wasn't an abandoned pet ~ Xo ~ Great photos and fun time for the children ~ Xo
ReplyDeleteWishing you love in your days,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
We don't answer unknowns either. Dang, I glad that wasn't a kitty in that thing. Pretty skies!
ReplyDeleteThat crate of donations was a nice surprise. I haven't had a landline in years, just didn't see the sense in paying a fee for something I never used.
ReplyDeleteWe still have a landline. Me? I'm a texter!
ReplyDeleteI really hate answering the phone. Since Husby retired, he answers 99.9% of the time. (I console myself with the knowledge that 99.9% of those calls are for him!)
That Boudreaux just slays me. (But I'm still glad I don't have to live with him!)
Beautiful skies!
