How to Share a Hammock (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week and Poetry Monday

 ***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

These two can show you how.

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week.  While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey is on a blog semi-break and her poetry is sorely missed, we hope she comes back soon.   Charlotte/Mother Owl participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in at least once a month, too.  Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let Diane know!

This week the theme is Talk Like a Pirate Day.

Let me tell you, matey,

my Cajun accent's better, it's true,

but once a year you at least gotta try

to do what you can do.

Pull out your best pirate accent,

and sing about bottles of rum,

but be careful how much of that stuff you drink

it's very hard on the tum!

If your boss has a sense of humor,

say, "Aye, Cap'n!" throughout the day,

and if your boss really doesn't,

maybe find a new job, i'd say.

The best part of this pretending,

can be had at your evening meal,

you can serve up a "pirate supper,"

it's really a fun, fun deal.

Whatever you serve for dinner,

be it pasta or barbecue,

cover your table with paper

and eat like the pirates do.

No plates, no forks, no napkins,

no manners, just eat as you please,

and when you are all finished,

roll the paper into the trash with ease.

Celebrate talking like a pirate

and have fun for just today,

tomorrow will be plenty of time

to go back to the normal way.

  9. I always loved the Disney Steamboat Willie cartoon. It was such a brave thing to do, he sank all his money in it and it could so easily have been a catastrophe.
