It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Part of today’s post is also a writing challenge. This is how it works: one of the contributing bloggers picked a number between 12 and 50. The submitted number is a challenge to participating bloggers to write at least one piece using that exact number of words.
This month, the word count number is: 37
It was submitted by: Karen at Baking in a Tornado

On Thursdays i do Ms. V's house and finish by putting the cleaning rags and mop heads in the washer and starting it. Ms. V takes it all out after it's done and hangs it to dry.
Enter Carl. If she doesn't remember to get them down, and he needs to hang something up to dry, they are liable to be anywhere. Yesterday, they were in the laundry room sink with his dirty clothes.
In that house, my default modus operandi is, when it doubt, rewash. The wet clothes in the washer were set only to a rinse and spin cycle. They and the cleaning rags were rewashed. So were these:
There was a hanger in there, didn't matter, it wasn't all clean. |
One of the good things is, we've established a rule about receipts. If it's recent, and not the old one for a purchase he wants to return he's looking for, i am allowed to throw them away.
I arrived while Carl was having breakfast, and wearing a good bit of it. When he was done, i told him to change his shirt. He headed for the bathroom, with shirt, pants, and socks. No underwear.
When i asked why he was changing everything, not just the breakfast covered shirt, he admitted he'd not showered. I tried to hand him underwear, but he'd shut the door, so i hung it on the knob.
Then i knocked and told him, through the door, where his underwear was. Later, i found it on the floor in the bathroom. No, i didn't ask the obvious question, and i probably don't want to know.
Other things i don't want to know, how this stuff gets under his bed,
why there is always a leftover bottle lid in the bathroom,
You match up all the caps to the bottles, there's always one left. |
and why there's a perfectly folded and clean pillowcase in the bed.
Under the pillows, where else? |
The mysteries may remain mysteries, as usual i simply chalk them all up to job security and move on, it makes things easier. In honor of whatever ends up under his bed, monster-under-the-bed funnies.
Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

I love the first cartoon with the two monsters for the bunk beds.
ReplyDeleteLove the funnies.
ReplyDeleteAnd your attitude to Carl.
Good monster funnies. Mom said she never worried about them as a kid. Poor Carl, his mind is quite interesting.
ReplyDeleteGreat cartoons, Mimi.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The monsters hiding under my bed were my siblings.
ReplyDeleteI love your under the bed monsters funnies :D Carl is as always a handful and a half.
ReplyDeleteI think your job is pretty secure either way. From what I see, you are an integral part of the equation that keeps that house running.
ReplyDeleteI love Carl and I look forward to hearing about him every Tuesday. He's a whirlwind that makes me smile. I know it's job security for you.
ReplyDeleteLove all the funnies.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs. ♥
Solving the Carl Mystery. Sounds like a good read! Oh, wait! It is!
ReplyDelete"...when in doubt, rewash" Ha! That's my motto, too!

ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
Apparently, Carl's family doesn't mind wasting water. Great funnies, especially the kid that hid everything under the bed. :)
ReplyDeleteI must admit, we do look forward to hearing about Carl. Those cartoons were sure funny!
ReplyDeleteThat cap in the drawer is a wanna be Tupperware lid.
ReplyDeleteThe Carl saga continues. God bless that fellow. You have the patience of Job and I wish I had half of it. The cartoon monsters under the h=bed made me smile too.
ReplyDeleteCarl is quite the character and you are so kind and caring. I wonder how his mom handles it all when you are not there? I have a friend who is suffering from a bad bout of depression and she asked for prayer. She has a son who is a special needs fellow. I can only imagine how difficult is must be caring for him as she and her husband age. I certainly admire all moms and dads and all the helpers who keep keeping on with those they love. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou obviously have the patience of a saint whilst dealing with Carl antics. Not all heroes wear capes! LOVED your monster under the bed funnies - the bunkbed one especially cracked me up! :)
