Lulu is afraid of storms. She was about 2 years old when Grandma and Grandpa adopted her, so we don't know why, she came to us that way. When a storm is on the way, once Grandpa gives her the "chill pill" the vet prescribed, all is well.
Totally Chill! |

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week. While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border. Charlotte/Mother Owl participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in at least once a month, too. Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let Diane know!
This week the theme is Chocolate Chips.
I know I have trust issues,
and I'll pinpoint the cause.
If you want to hear the story,
I'll tell you how it was.
I'd just come in from working,
and I tell you, I was beat.
I really needed some water,
and then something to eat.
The kitchen smelled delightful
and I quickly followed my nose,
to a plate of beautiful cookies
where gladly one I chose.
I couldn't wait to taste it,
chocolate chips are my fave,
in fact on any day chocolate
tops the list of what I crave.
I took a great, big, warm bite,
what horror! what despair!
The taste was not of chocolate,
instead I found a raisin in there!
My taste buds were most unhappy
and that's why I always say,
deceptive Oatmeal Raisin cookies
are why I have trust issues today!

Poor Lulu, being scared is not fun. That was a fun poem and so very true!
ReplyDeleteGlad Lulu has a chill pill to help. Nice spark and fun poem. I dislike the oatmeal raisin too. :)
ReplyDeleteI can relate to the disappointment of discovering a raisin when expecting a chocolate chip.
ReplyDeleteSure is a lot of info! Hey, that's a black lab isn't it? Awwwwww I have one too! His name is Charlie & he sprawls all over too when he lays down his favorite place is right in the middle of the floor, but wrong or right he's our baby (he's 9) God bless them!!!! HUGS
ReplyDeleteMimi,
ReplyDeleteI don't like really bad storms so I can relate somewhat to Lulu but I don't have any chill pills to take.I just have to ride them out. Your poem is cleverly written. I certainly would be disappointed if I bit into a chocolate chip cookie to find raisins. That's almost boarder line of healthy food, if you exclude all of the sugar it took to make the cookies. :) Have an awwwesom week, my dear!
Oh, a chill doggins. The best!
ReplyDeleteGreat poem! And I'd have trust issues as well. I remember the times I was fooled into eating a raisin cookie that I thought was chocolate chip. Bleagh. (I have trust issues about my brother and the same subject, but that is another story...)
