Sometimes It Doesn’t Work Out (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Angel Sammy’s Poetry Day and Brian’s Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

We did our level best.

Ms. G and i got the rooms properly measured, the stair trims nailed back on, the microwave cleaned.

While i was able to get the old cabinet and drawer knobs off in the kitchen (all 27 of them), we were not able to put the new ones on, as Amazon said they would be delivered that day, but the time could be anywhere from noon to 8pm and they still hadn't come when i left her house after 4pm.  She also needs a bigger drill bit to make the holes bigger as the new knobs have slightly bigger screws and need to go all the way through.

Ms. G's real estate signs are over there all ready to be put up and the owner/seller has been sent a picture of the seven flooring samples to choose a color so the new flooring can be installed (which will be done while it's up for sale, believe it or not, they just don't want to wait much longer).

Ms. G was hoping to have this place on the market already and be out of town in her RV for the rest of the week, and we've tried, but it looks like this one just isn't going to work in her favor.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

I liked the contrast between the dark red wood fence and the lighter fence with the sun gleaming off of it, and lighting up the children's toys in the yard beyond.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poem:

No need to call me chubby

though I've grown a little tubby

I thought I could get through

now I don't know what to do!

Don't ask me how I did it,

I know now I was a nitwit,

I really need some aid,

someone call the fire brigade!

Angel Brian's Family of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful I did not lose my cool with someone who was frustrating me awfully.  It would have made the situation worse and I'm thankful a quick prayer kept my words in check.

  1. Poor Ms G. At least most of the work is now done.
Haven't we all been a nitwit from time to time? I know I have - and I am glad that you were able to keep your cool.

  2. acceptance can be a bugger to embrace even when we know it's the best course of action for us!

  3. I believe I am seeing fences inside fences! A multitude of fences. It is difficult to hold your tongue when people can be so rude around you. But speaking to them about never really fixes anything. I think they then become worse.

  4. Mom is a Realtor, but she has her own business as a real estate transaction coordinator. Believe it or not, most homes don't go on the market as planned as something always seems to cause delays. A few days or a week won't change things much. Hopefully the house can go active soon so she can get back to life rather than working around being gone for showings which is a real pain.

  7. Cute poem. I am surprised that the lady is having her floor done instead of letting the new owners deal with it.

  17. Never seems to fail! In a hurry to finish up work or a project before the start of vacation and bam! something appears out of nowhere to delay us.

"Taking a minute" at those moments is important.
