Mr. Cal, Can You See Me? (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week and Poetry Monday

 ***********************************

Please note, due to work circumstances beyond my control i am several days behind on reading your blogs and am trying to catch up.  Thank you for your patience as i work on it.

***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

It seems Mr. Cal needs a grooming, at least around his face.  It wasn't easy to get him to look at me for his photo.

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week.  While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Our dear friend Diane is taking a break

accommodations we must make

we miss her poetry and wit

so carry on as Poetry Monday's a hit!

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border Charlotte/Mother Owl and i are keeping it going while she takes a blog break, we hope temporarily.  Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let us know!

This week the theme is Conclusion.

Introductions and conclusions

at each other always rage,

it's because no matter what

they're never on the same page.

*******

My life doesn't go smoothly,

it's full of mass confusions

because most of my exercise

is jumping to conclusions.

*******

My brother and I loved comic books

we'd buy them and we'd share,

but whoever got them first the other

thought it wasn't fair.

We decided to tear the pages out,

one would read then pass it on,

that way neither of us thought

he was being put upon.

The inevitable happened though,

one time the last few pages

my brother spilled soda on them

they were ruined for all ages.

It was many years before

my feelings toward him did thaw

as with the end of that comic

my own conclusions I had to draw!

*******

Future themes are:

July 22 conclusion (Today!)

July 29 holiday

Aug. 5 honey

Aug. 12 cabinet

Aug. 22 market

Aug. 29 instrument

Spooners Day (Spoonerism -- Named for William Archibald Spooner, English cleric and scholar who once fussed at a student because "You hissed my mystery lesson," told a groom it was "kisstomery to cuss the bride," and once accidentally referred to Queen Victoria as "the queer old Dean.")

St. Mary Magdalene's Day (Patron of apothecaries, contemplative life and contemplatives, converts, druggists, glove makers, hairdressers and hair stylists, penitent sinners, penitent women, people ridiculed for their piety, perfumeries and perfumers, pharmacists, reformed prostitutes, tanners, women; Anguiano, Spain; Atrani, Salerno, Italy; Casamicciola, Italy; Elantxobe, Spain; Foglizzo, Italy; La Magdaleine, Italy; against sexual temptation)

  1. There is no rush to read blogs. Make some time for you to breathe.
Mr Cal does need a trim - and I smiled at your poems.

  2. Great quotes about jumping to conclusions. We pups get our facial furs trimmed with our thinning shears quite often as Mom doesn't like it when she can't see our eyes. It's nice to be able to see clearly.

  3. Hey no rush here, go at your own pace! I think Mr Cal looks adorable the way he is, no grooming needed in my opinion. Of course, he probably would prefer to have some of that fur gone about now. :) Great job on your poems!

  10. Aww, Mr. Cal is a cutie, and if he gets that spa treatment, he will be even cuter. Mom said she is glad her brother only liked all the superhero comic books so she could have all the Looney Tunes ones just for her. Now she is really dating herself:)

  11. My brother and I bought comic books too, but we preferred different types so there was never any animosity. I like Archie and Jughead ones while brother preferred Superman.
