Visit From Bigger Girl, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

First, it is #1 Son’s 28th birthday.  He is now the age i was when i had him!

How in the world did that happen!?!

Now, for Bigger Girl’s visit.

Please note that now that she doesn’t live here, we seldom see her and keep in touch mostly by text or phone.  This past Saturday, she was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by.  It’s not easy to follow her conversations, which are mostly run-on, but i took notes as best i could and am trying to recreate what she talked about.

Guess what, mom!  I was in the neighborhood visiting my friend Kalie and decided to stop and see you guys.  She has a Jeep, my friend does, and it is a big one with a towing package and she is volunteering to tow boats for the Cajun Navy if they need her.

Anyway, speaking of the storm, I was also at her house baking some pies.  That way, if the electricity goes out at my place I will have something to eat.  We are going to have a hurricane pie party tomorrow, me and a lot of my friends.  We will have meat pies and veggie pies and I made a pie with cream and vinegar and black cherries, and it is sooo good!

Also I made too much custard, so what to do, I made a rice pudding and put it in the one leftover pie crust and talk about delicious!  She and I ate that one.

And also, if the electricity goes out, I have a plan.  Since my annoying roommate and her boyfriend moved out and I have the apartment to myself — but don’t worry, since I don’t rent the whole apartment, just my room, my rent won’t go up, and they’ve been having a hard time filling vacancies lately so I may have the place to myself for a while for the same rent, hurrooo! — but anyway, I plan to fill the washing machine with ice and all of my frozen and cold food and close the lid, so I don’t have to worry about losing it all and as the ice melts, it just goes down the drain!

But back to the pie party.  It will be at my friend Annie’s house.  You remember Mike from the shelter who used to talk to me all the time?  Well, he married my friend Annie, and they live with Annie’s mother because, mom, that woman should not live alone.  She has a job and everything, but you can’t trust her to live on her own.  She forgets to pay bills, and if you send her to go buy gas, she may go in there to pay for the gas and buy some random stuff instead and forget about the gas!  She keeps coming home with different cookie cutters she buys at the store and making all of their food in the shapes of these cookie cutters.  It’s cute but annoying after a while, Annie says.

They are enjoying being married, but they have to sleep in separate rooms because they both snore and wake each other up.  They are cute together anyway, and I think they are just going to stay living with Annie’s mother because that’s the easiest way to keep an eye on her.

Anyway, school is going great, I should graduate in December.  After that, I am setting up to do an internship with Big Cats Rescue, and then I want to go back to Europe and work at the zoo in Rotterdam and with my head professor’s projects there.  After a few years, I will have saved up enough for graduate school over there and I will be fluent in Dutch by then!

Between semesters, I’ve got every doctor appointment I need scheduled, everything I could think of, eyes, ears, general health, lady stuff, everything.  Once I’m done with that week, I hope I won’t need another doctor’s appointment for ten years!

Oh, and I’ve been making money between student jobs by finding change on the ground for one thing.  You would be amazed, I’ve been picking up over $100 a month that way!  The people around the bars drop change and don’t care.  Also, I sell my blood plasma, and lately I’ve been a human guinea pig!  Hurrooo!  That’s one thing off my bucket list.

It’s really been fascinating.  They have you sit still for hours and randomly ask you questions about your perception of how hot or cold the room is.  Then they have you do the same thing, only wearing virtual reality headgear that is just a virtual picture of the same room you are in.  They want to know if virtual reality changes how you perceive temperature.

I told them that the headgear itself was making me a bit hot and that would skew the results, but they said they take that into account already.

Well, I gotta run, I want to get a few more things done.  See you soon!

Speaking of seeing you soon, i hope everyone has a fabulous Tuesday!
