It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Carl had just started the dryer when i walked in yesterday, and i promptly stopped it and gave a good sniff. Then i turned on the washer to see which cycle was the last one he'd run and i was right. He hadn't washed the clothes, just run them through a rinse cycle.
He gets that confused, on both the washer and dryer, and it makes for some laundry mayhem.
The laundry is getting more complicated, he now has 5 dryer balls to get lost in the clothes. |
The boomerang bottle. |
Last week we had a recycle the bottle battle. Every time i'd fish a bottle out of the garbage and set it aside to carry to the recycle bin later, he'd pick it back up and toss it back in the garbage can. This week, i gave up and walked the two bottles straight to the bin, no waiting. I figure it takes about as much time to do that as to fish it out of the can three or four times.
Carl leaves grocery bags lying around, and you can't just throw them away as they often have things in them he's forgotten, and he leaves things in pockets.
Something's in there. |
Yes, the card still has value on it. |
What's in the pocket? |
The pill carrier ends up in lots of places, sometimes with the pills in it, and sometimes with the pills next to it. He tries.
He's using reading glasses now (while i think of him as a child, and i am old enough to be his mother if i'd had a kid in my late teens, he is now 40).
No, i'm not sure how long it's going to take him to remove the label that says "Remove before use."
He was fighting with his lunchbox yesterday.
The tool was to try prying it open, and it was leaking. |
It wouldn't open, and i thought something was wedged in there keeping it stuck. Attempts to move whatever-it-was didn't work, and i was able to barely peek in. It wasn't wedged shut, the spring-lock mechanism was broken, it was full of water, and it was starting to emit an unpleasant scent. With Ms. V's permission it is now in the trash can.
Carl's biggest regret these days is the busy holiday season has him working extra hours. He doesn't mind the extra pay. "It cuts into my nap time!" he laments.
In honor of lost naps, a few funnies.
Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

ReplyDeleteThe nap memes are great! It's kind of interesting. Babies sleep a lot and older people sleep a lot. There are days when I really need a nap but I usually won't let myself take one. The only way I allow it is if I'm not well. :) I hope y'all have a wonderful time spending it the warm company of friends an family this Thursday. Have a blessed Thanksgiving and thank you for being a good friend!
ReplyDeleteThat last sign is great. Gramma always teases our mom because as a baby she never napped. She screamed and screamed. Now Mom loves naps just doesn't have much time for them. Poor Carl, such simple things in life are so hard for him.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful blog
ReplyDeleteCarl is such a whirlwind. I so enjoy your posts about him. So entertaining.
ReplyDeleteLove all the nap funnies. You made me chuckle more than once.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Big hug. ♥
I can't wait until Tuesday to see what Carl is doing. He makes my day. One thing I agree with him is nap time. Have a wonderful day Mimi.

I will need a gallon of your patience in the coming years as my hubby is slowly working his way in that direction.
ReplyDeleteYour funnies are precious ~ lol ~ And Carl keeps you busy for sure ~ Xo

Well, perfect timing for this post. My son (aka The Nap King) just came home for a few weeks.
ReplyDeleteNever a dull moment with Carl. Great bunch of funnies. I love to nap. XO
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smiles! :)
ReplyDeleteI can't help but wonder if Carl is as interesting at work as he is at home. Love the nap funnies!
ReplyDeleteThank you for Words for Wednesday and that photo - I wanted to use it but did not succeed - I have written far too many words about Susan as it is.
ReplyDeleteCarl certainly keeps you on your toes, doesn't he? You truly have the patience of a saint! :) LOVE all the nap funnies - the hubby takes naps whenever he can, I'm unable to nap, my brain is too busy. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, the Days of Carl. Always entertaining. (For the rest of us!) I laughed at your funnies. Always great!
