Turtles and Cats

What do turtles and cats have in common?

Not much that I can think of, besides being air breathing vertebrates, but yesterday I combined thoughts of turtles and cats in a unique way.

I got rid of all of the old litter boxes, and bought a nice, new, fresh one that has a scooping screen built in. Then I Turtle Waxed the inside.

Yes, I used the same kind of Turtle Wax you use on the car to keep it shiny. I waxed the whole inside, buffed it, and I hope it will help make cleanups easier.

I did this in stages as I fed kittens, cooked dinner, folded laundry, sorted school supplies, and various and sundry other chores.

So, cats and turtles may not have much in common, but here's hoping a slick coating will do a litter box some good.

They are too often peppered with the "Why don't you have kids/have kids yet?" question that is so disrespectful of their life choices. Parents get lots of other days and don't need to hog this one. I will personally forgo it.)

Rounds Resounding Day (Grab your friends and sing a few songs that go in rounds, like "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" and "Frere Jacques".)

Sports Day (They need a day for this? When the seasons for every sport already overlap?)

  1. Well at first I was about to answer "Tortoise shell!" as I used to have a beautiful tortoise shell feline named Topaz. She was a great cat.

Then when you were talking about a change of litter boxes, I thought you were going to say you bought a Turtle pool to use as one large litter box.

So I guess there are a few things they have in common but I never would have guessed about Turtle Waxing a litter box. Let me know how it works out. :)
