New Year? Really? (Cajun Joke) and Temporary Greenhouse (Sunday Selections)

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

***********************************

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

It seems that another year is upon us.  Mostly it just changes the calendar and not a lot else.

Clothile done be axin' Boudreaux, "What goin' be you resolution?"

An' Boudreaux say, "Dere's goin' be another year?  You mean I gots to do it all again?"

Clothile done say, "Boudreaux!  What you be goin' resolve?"

Boudreaux say, "I don' know, you ain't done tole me yet what I be resolvin'!"

Den Clothile say, "Boudreaux, really!  I be goin' try to lose a few pounds, an' I want to know dat you be goin' do somet'in', too."

So Boudreaux say, "I be resolvin' to quit spendin' time wit' people who ax me 'bout my resolutions!"

Clothile shake her head an' ax again, "Boudreaux, you mean you goin' to let me work to make my life better, an' you don' be goin' do nothin'?"

An' Boudreaux say, "I tell you what I be goin' do, I be pickin' up my lef' leg when it be midnight."

Clothile say, "An' what be dat goin' do?"

Den Boudreaux say, "Mais, dat be so I can start de year on de right foot!"

In 2019, may your neighbors respect you, troubles neglect you, angels protect you, and heaven accept you !

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It is now hosted by River at Drifting Through Life.

Mr. BA is having me help build the winter greenhouse he puts up each year to keep his plants alive through winter:

Some indoor plants we set out to get rain, and it quit raining!

The walls are thick visqueen, nailed down and abuts the house.

It has a nice, wide door so he can get stuff in easily.

It's a jungle in there!

Preparing the supports for the visqueen on the sides.

Buddy the Shop Cat snoopervised our comings and goings.

A Yummy Thankful

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

***********************************

Ten Things of Thankful is taking a break, and i hope Kristi and all of the other regulars are having a great time.

My thankful this week is that i was able to use the turkey carcass from Christmas to boil up stock, and the meat and some sausage and other ingredients to make a gumbo.

Boil your own stock from a roasted turkey, it tastes better that way.

Turkey and sausage, as opposed to a seafood gumbo.

Saute those veggies!

Lots of gumbo, to be served over rice.

There's nothing quite like gumbo, especially as the weather gets cooler, and i haven't been doing a lot of cooking since my business has gotten so much bigger.  The family was very glad for it, even Red-headed Alec is coming by today for a bowl.

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone!
