Silly Sunday: Boo for Boudreaux

Silly Sunday is hosted by Sandee, of Comedy Plus.

Silly Sunday is the place to come for weekly laughs.  The rules are simple, just have fun.

This is a great opportunity to get to know other bloggers and have a laugh or two in the process.

Here is how it works: Laugh and Link Up!

  1. Post a joke.
  2. Link Up with the URL to your joke in the Linky Tools Widget.
  3. Read my joke.
  4. Leave a comment to tell me how much you enjoyed my joke.
  5. Try and visit a few others participating in Silly Sunday.
  6. Go to Sandee's site, linked above, and get the Silly Sunday code for your blog, too!

Halloween was fairly quiet around here, with the expected rain not being quite as serious as predicted, with very little in the way of thunderstorms.  The dripping was constant, however, and i was glad the little kids were not out getting rain down the backs of their costumes and slogging through sloppy wet yards.  (Being a parent, i'm glad they weren't out there, either, trying to hold up umbrellas over the kids as much as possible and getting frustrated with the mess.)

Boudreaux, now he had him a adventure, sure.

De udder day, him an' Thibodeaux be talkin' 'bout de local haunted house.  Den dey gots to arguin', because Boudreaux say dere don' be nuthin' to be 'fraid 'bout, an' Thibodeaux sayin' de place were bad, an' in de end, Boudreaux agree he goin' take his ol' camera an' go over dere an' spen' de Halloween night dere.

So on Halloween, Thibodeaux walk wit' Boudreaux up to de ol' house, an' watch him go in, den shake his head an' leave, won'erin' if he ever goin' see his frien' again.

On La Toussaint (All Saints' Day), Thibodeaux go to Boudreaux house to see if'n he done made it back.  Dere be Boudreaux, settin' on de porch swing wit' a big smile.

"Boudreaux, you be a'right?" he ax.

"Mais, oui, I be jes' fine!" Boudreaux say.

"Be dere any spectre dere?" Thibodeaux ax.

"Sure dere be!  An' dey be friendly, dey talk at me all night!  Dey likes de company, dey tired bein' lef' by demselfs," Boudreaux say.

"An' den, did you get a photo?" Thibodeaux ax, ver' curious.

"Well, I done try, an' de spectres even done pose fo' me, but I gots no photo."  Den Boudreux hol' up his ol' camera an' say, "De spirits be willin' but de flash be weak!"
