Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week.  While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey is on a blog semi-break and her poetry is sorely missed, we hope she comes back soon.   Charlotte/Mother Owl participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in at least once a month, too.  Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let Diane know!

This week the theme is Yo-yos.

Life can get a little crazy

life can get a little wild,

run along just fine on one day

next day act like a spoiled child

Life can go up like a rocket

and then come down like a stick

everything is great for now

and then so bad it makes you sick

Life can be just like a yo-yo

in going up and coming down

you laugh and smile on one day

and the next will make you frown

Just remember there are people

going up and down with you

they stick around through good and bad

and everything you do

Hang on to those people

in the good and in the strife

and always try to savor

all the yo-yos in your life!

  6. Thank you for the reminder. Several years ago I lost a good friend to Hunnington's disease. Similar to ALS it takes a terrible tole on the victim and the family. Have a blessed week.

  7. Your poem is thoughtful, true, and relatable. It's truly the people who take the up and down ride with me, who are all that keeps me going sometimes.
