It’s Thankful Day and we’re all thankful we didn’t freeze or have any pipes burst because, among other things, it’s been cold.
I’m thankful for the rental car to get to NOLA.
Mr. Cal is thankful we took the shortest walk ever because it was so cold, but he wanted to be out, so at least we went.
#2 Son and Daughter-in-Law worked on Slow-Moe the car and we are thankful, so far, so good, although there will be more done later. At least my Sweetie has his car back and he’s very thankful, especially as Brother-in-Law’s car went in the shop again this week! We would have been hurting with only Gus Gus Die Fledermaus to rely on.
I’m thankful i got all my errands run and still finished work in time to take care of our little Annie while they worked on the car.
Tuesday, Daughter-in-Law took a day off and i’m thankful i got to go to the ladies’ meeting without having to hurry-rush back for babysitting.
I’m thankful, also, i still had our girl for a while so her mama could have time to herself.
Wednesday started my “crazier busy” time for this week as Ms. GA and Mr. BA went out of town. I’m thankful i got through taking care of their critters, and the morning cat shelter shift, and the adoption cages at the pet shop, and Ms. G’s, and back to Ms. GA’s cats, and then Bible study.
Ms. G is a separate thankful in there - we got the boat cover re-secured against cat intrusion and i’m thankful while my hands and feet went numb while doing it, they did thaw out, i got to go visit Ms. Fiona to take her snacks while Ms. G sat in the car and made calls, we got the laundry closet emptied so the water heater could be fixed, litter boxes were scooped and very untidy areas quick vacuumed including getting all the spilled peanuts even to Ms. G’s satisfaction, drinks restocked in the fridge and a few other things beside, all in five hours.
Yes, my life is a circus, and yes, i’m thankful it’s not boring.
Then there was Thursday - i’m thankful we got the cats done at Ms. GA’s, picked up the drinks for rEcess, did Ms. SE’s house, then back to Ms. GA’s house to do both the every-other-week cleaning and take care of the cats, an 11 hour day.
Now we’re up to Friday, right? I got to the church to make coffee for the men’s study although our group didn’t meet (with Ms. GA and Mr. BA out of town), then to care for the cats for the last time, ran to the store for my weekly food run, and came back for baby tending, ran to get the car rental and then off to rEcess, and i’m very thankful it all worked out.
rEcess was the usual fun, with plenty of volunteers and lots of running the halls and the gym, playing games, doing art and just horsing around. We’re thankful since there was a Mardi Gras parade downtown, we have reserved parking!
Now, to all who have read through this, thank you for understanding i’m a bit behind on blog reading and getting worse, but i will get around to everyone sooner or later.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
