This week, i was tempted to call my Thankful Day post, "Now what!" but decided "On to Adventure" is more positive, as the Lord has put too many blessings in my life for me to grouse.
Thus my love of this hop.
The trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house went well last Saturday, and somehow i managed to not only do the work and get done on time, but get extra laundry done, which is a big thankful as it helps with everything.
After our usual happy Sunday morning walk with Mr. Cal and going to church with Becca, we had a quick but intense rain shower for which we are thankful. We aren't really in drought, but we are getting a bit dry.
Ms. D was thankful to see us when Annie and i visited. Also, i'm thankful when i went back to clean the next day, she was happy with how the shower doors turned out.
There was a little blast from the past Monday morning, i was thankful to have extra work as i went to tidy and refresh Carl's room so he could come home for a visit. It will be nice to see him next Thursday when i go clean the house, too.
Monday morning also had time for errands, thankfully, as i'd forgotten some things on Friday morning.
I am thankful for our Tuesday morning as this is part of where adventure comes in. When the men laying new fiber optic cable around here ripped our water line right out of the meter, it was quite a shock. The thankful things are, first, they broke it, they fixed it, second, it gave me a reminder to be thankful there is running water in my house (and all of it is in sinks, tubs, and toilets where it should be, unlike previous adventures), third, it gave me a story to write for Words for Wednesday.
Tuesday with Annie and time with little Ben while his mama went to the eye doctor was a big thankful, too.
Ms. G's sense of humor was showing Wednesday and i'm thankful, she doesn't often joke or kid around. We'd been thankful to get Patience the camper back into the driveway and off the street and i did the other chores, we went to Cramco, and after she'd written a check, she cracked a joke and handed me an extra $5, telling me it was a tip for bringing all the purchases in from the car (which i do anyway).
Our Wednesday night Bible study is back in session and all of us were thankful to be there.
Thursday was another adventure as we had a double cleaning and both of us slightly tweaked our backs. Usually, it's just one or the other of us, and the one doing a bit better steps up the game but this time, we were both thankful to be able to keep going and get everything done. I was also thankful to lie down for an hour when i got home.
The Friday adventure/thankful involved Lawrence the Honda. Once the timing chain was replaced, the cold start rattle did not end, as it also needed a VVT solenoid. Also, a couple of times this week Lawrence gifted me with a warning to check my gas cap, which is a new one, then Friday morning it further gifted me with a check engine light. The codes are consistent with the same thing which plagued GusGus die Fledermaus (the Ford) for so long, a bad purge valve.
#2 Son, thankfully, had time to change the solenoid, but at first it leaked. He had to tweak it and finally got it tight, then ran out of time as the rains came. I'm thankful Lawrence is running well enough to not worry about the other part until he can get to it.
The cat shelter went exceptionally well last night, and Ms. M, my Friday evening volunteer partner was thankful i'd told her my son works on cars as she is now driving with no A/C. I'm thankful to be able to hook her up with someone.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

It's National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day, and is now celebrated as an International Day, too. It was started by a vet in the US who declared today a cat's only day for his practice, so his feline patients wouldn't be upset by any dogs in the place. There are now many vets who schedule "cats only" days throughout the year, to make going a little less traumatizing for felines.
Thanks to Barb Kowalik and The Cat Blogosphere for the event badge.
