mimi:  C’mere, doofus!

Sweetie:  Who are you talking to?

mimi:  That crazy cat.

Sweetie:  The cat’s name is not “Doofus”.

mimi:  It is when I can’t remember the cat’s name!

(Don’t you hate when you can’t remember names?)

The other day, at the MallMart, i noticed a stack of a particular item on the clearance rack.  Yes, of course, i always check the clearance rack.  Anyway, i picked one up and checked the price.  It was the same as always, but on a clearance tag.

Hey, MallMart, here’s a note for you, if you haven’t lowered the price, it’s not really on clearance.

Dr. D greeted me yesterday with the TV tuned to the news at full volume and her at a near panic.

“What are we going to do?” she kept saying.

About what?

“About the rioting?”

There’s been no rioting here.  In fact, at the protest on Sunday, there were no barricades up and not a single person even trampled a plant in the gardens around the capitol building.

“But how are we going to protect ourselves if they start rioting here?”

Um, since we don’t live near the capitol, or in a large business area, how about stay indoors and don’t go near the protests?

“Well, yes, I guess that will work.”

Sometimes a PhD in economics is no match for a degree in practical janitoring.

Feline Friday: Count the Kittens

Can you tell how many kittens are in the kitten quilt on the floor?

Count the Kittens!

 If you can count 11, you are right!  The current crop is from 5 litters.  The eldest are just over five weeks old, so i'm trying to get them to start drinking out of a bowl.  They already nibble at the dry food.

The youngest are about 3 weeks old, and so are just allowed to roam the kitchen in the last few days.  They were in the cage until three days ago.

So far this kitten season, i have probably gone through about 20lbs. of dry kitten formula mix.  That's just the kittens i've raised, as we do have a few others who will take one litter at a time, or only litters on the cusp of weaning.  They aren't crazy like me.

At this time, i've already informed Miss W that vacation is coming up the first week of June, so any new kittens i take will have to have somewhere else to go by then, as will all of these.  These shouldn't be a problem, and should all be weaned by then and up for adoption.

Then i get to come home from vacation and start over!
