All the news i can think to print (Random and Happy Tuesday).

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Dr. D has finally done it.  She went to a cousin who owns a big commercial building and told him she needs a small office in which to work doing the research for her lawsuits.  He gave her an empty one that he has no use for right now.

We spent yesterday moving files.  We haven't even touched most of them yet.  What i'm trying not to think about is what's going to happen when her cousin does end up with a use for that office.

Today is part one of my annual check-up.  Yesterday i called Ms. B, my every-other-Tuesday client, and told her i might be a bit late today because of an early morning doctor appointment.  She informed me that she was in the hospital!  She was hoping to get out yesterday afternoon, but either way, i am still to go to her house today, her son is there.

Then i fussed at her (only a little) because neither she nor her other son who is a deacon at our church (really, he should know better!) called the church office to let them know she was hospitalized.  She's not on the prayer list either, because no one knew.  Her response to that was, "Oh, well!" said as only she can.

She's a retired nurse.  Like so many medical people, she hates being sick and having a to-do made over her.  Can't say that i blame her much.  Still, when you are 81 and end up in the hospital, your church family would really like to know.

The annual check-up includes a whole bunch of stuff that i'm not too thrilled to go through, but go through it i must.  Samples will be taken, i will get an ECG and tests to make sure i have no clogged arteries in my extremities, hearing test, visual field, and more.

As typical for me, my ECG will be "abnormally normal", my lung capacity will be deemed "as good as it's going to get with the scars" and for the rest, well, it's a wait and see.  This time i have to wait a month, as i cannot find a time any sooner to get back to the office for all of the results.

This is about how i felt on my drive to church Sunday morning when it seems every crazy was on the freeway:

As much as i dislike violence, i think i would have liked to spank a couple of people that morning.

It makes perfect sense to a cat person:

Finally, Little Girl is still living at home (the room mate thing fell apart) and she has Coda until Alston gets back from his month on orders.  Coda has been giving me a look like this when i tell her i'm going to take her for a walk:

Of course, i don't take her to the vet, i am not sure why she looks at me that way.  Guess i'm not mommy so you never know what i might do.

Oh, and as for Alston, Little Girl's boyfriend, he pulled a stunt while on orders and got caught by the Sergeant Major!  Because it didn't end up with anyone being hurt or any thing being damaged, it didn't go up the chain of command, but he had to spend four hours in the hot sun in the field, flipping a tractor tire over and over and over and over around the field.  He seems to have learned that drinking and then driving to the store for more beer while wearing only half of your uniform is going to get you into a world of trouble, especially when it's a tiny town, there's only one store, and the Sergeant Major is in there and catches you then has to be the one to drive you back to base.

That's about all the news, hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

  1. Lots and lots of news.
Good luck with your check up.
And sadly I can relate to the stick and pinata thing more often than I like.
And of course I talk to my cat. It would be rude to ignore him.

  2. My friend's dad was a submarine captain whose favorite saying was, "The stupid shall be punished." He would have approved of the tire trick. :-)

  4. Preparation for school seems to have everyone on edge. Lots of child scolding in the Target store yesterday. Wish I had stayed at home in my quiet gray-haired mode.

  5. I love your funnies and yes I've wanted to use that stick a time or two.

I hear you on all the medical tests that seem to multiply when we get old. My care has several purposes. Medical visits, manicure and pedicure and grocery shopping. What an exciting life.

Yikes on the drunk driving. He got off lucky. I hope he's learned his lesson.

Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. ♥

  6. I agree with you Mimi, medical tests are a pain in the butt but are necessary. My last one every test was OK but he wanted another PSA blood test. My family has prostrate problems. The second test was Ok but he wanted another test in 5 months.
I wanted to laugh about Alston, Little Girl's boyfriend. Don't these young people ever learn but I thought for a minute, I guess we all did stupid things when we were young. See ya my friend.

  7. Oh my! Drinking and driving is always a bad idea but I can only imagine how the military feels about people doing that in (half) uniform. Eek!

Glad Dr. D managed to find an office, so that she can do her work from.

Show kindness to Ms. B. Maybe she didn't want the attention from being on the prayer list. I won't ask what she was in the hospital for, but I hope she is doing better now. And I hope your appointment went well too!
