Healthy Critters (Awww Monday) and the Inspiring Quote of the Week

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee, of Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

Annie, the sweet cat that had an operation to remove a bullet from under her shoulder blade, is fully healed now and ready for a forever home:

Her back is completely healed and the fur hides the scars.  Despite it all, she still loves people.

Meanwhile, we keep chasing mama duck and babies away from the cat food at the shelter, and they keep trying to sneak back.  They are getting big:

Mama and half of the babies.

The rest of the babies.  They know not to get closer.

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

  2. Aww! that sounded awful for Annie glad she is fully healed now, so in reality those ducks have been driving you quackers (I couldn't resist it)

  3. Definitely awwww. One of our cats spent the last eighteen years of her life with a pellet lodged against her heart. The little brat who lived behind us shot her (for practice) and the vet told us it was too risky to remove. She lived a long and happy life (no thanks to him).

  4. Mimi,

How wonderful Miss Annie is doing much better and those ducks what little sneaky thieves. :) It's good for them to not be depended on an easy source of food. They need to find food in the wild away from humans. That's the problem I see in the mountains. People feeding wildlife and then when a person gets injuried because Mr. Bear can't get his french fries then both suffer the consequences. Smaller animals while not a threat to people, it still doesn't do them any good to rely on human intervention for their vittles. I love your SPARKS quote - excellent! Have a sparkletastic day!

  9. I hope your mistreated Annie recovers and isn't too scarred emotionally by that horrid experience. I recently adopted a young cat who has been abused by adults, so she is very wary of everyone except children. It's a long journey gaining her trust. You do such wonderful work with your animals.
