Lettin' My Tail Hang Down (Feline Friday) and Friendly Fill-Ins

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

***********************************

Feline Friday was started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude, and i'm going to believe it's because he likes cats.
He has handed hosting duties off to Sandee, of Comedy Plus, and it's simple to join, just follow the link to Sandee's page for the rules and the code.

Mikey, don't you care where your tail lands when you are eating?

No, why?  Is something wrong?

It's a good thing Dansig is patient.

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by Lorianne The Menagerie Mom of Four-Legged Furballs. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!

Here are this week's statements with my responses underlined:

1. I am going_________________.

2. I want to be more ______________.

3. Once in a blue moon, I _________.

4. I have a large collection of _________.

1. I am going to have my  yearly check-up soon.  It takes two visits, and both are scheduled, about a month apart.

2. I want to be more fluent in Spanish, and i am working on it.  It is slow going for me, i want to know how the grammar of what i'm learning equates to in English because that's how my mind works.

3. Once in a blue moon, i have a day off.  Don't know when that will happen again, thus once in a blue moon.  (By the way, if anyone is interested, that expression does not mean the second full moon in a month, but the fourth in a quarter, which is much, much rarer.  Had to get that out, it's been bugging me.)

4. I have a large collection of dust bunnies.  By the time i get home from cleaning for others, the last thing i want to do is clean up around here, but i always get to it before the dusties become sentient and start a rebellion.  After all, these cats, three of which have long hair, shed enough that i could knit myself a litter of kittens if i ever needed one.

  6. Ugh! Cleaning up cat hair! My house is always starts clean on Monday, but by Friday it's a disaster. lol. At least I feel better going to work on Monday morning knowing I get to come home to a clean place.

I'm like you with language learning. SO many languages I want to learn and not enough time. And the struggle is certainly real. I follow a blog entitled Fluent in 3 Months which definitely provides suggestions for learning new languages. Sometimes they pertain to particular languages (Spanish, French, Italian, Japanese, etc…) and sometimes you can use the suggestions no matter which language you are learning (like watch Youtube videos in your chosen language, read books out loud in your chosen language, find a pen pal, etc…). I recommend checking it out. It may help. Then again, if you struggle to find time like me, it may not.

I always find it amusing how animals stick their tails in other people's/animal's faces and don't seem to be phased by it. Reminds me of little children that will step all over you and not even notice despite the fact that they are practically falling on you.

  12. Oh we know about those dust bunnies! The Female Human is constantly chasing them and dragging out the dreaded vacuum monster, especially during the summer shedding season.

  15. Great answers. TW should learn more Spanish too cos we live in Little Cuba by the Hudson. she took 4 years in school but still doesn't know more than a few phrases.

  16. Mikey, you look just like our Toby here. I can tell that you even have white toes like him. And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I took Spanish lessons in school for over 5 years, and now I am so ashamed that I let my Spanish get very rusty. And I know exactly what you mean with #4. Sometimes it's hard to keep with those dust bunnies. I hope you had a wonderful weekend!

  17. National Pencil Day is interesting. The number 2 pencil was the only one we ever knew about after first grade. We called the other ones "First Grader Pencils". We weren't very creative kids. There is a story, I don't know if it is true or not, that NASA engineers met with those from Russia and the NASA folks were so proud of their zero gravity pens. The engineers went into great detail about all the trials and errors with creating this pen. A Russian engineer spoke up and said, "We just use a pencil." Have a blessed week.

  18. I hope that all goes well with your yearly check-up.

I like to know the ins and outs of things, too. Especially when it comes to things like math, I have to know the way in order to apply. Some of the foreign languages seem to be written/spoken backwards from English and that is always confusing to me. Good luck to you!

Days off are a rarity here and I don't even work outside the home. I hope that you will have one very soon.

Your answer to #4 made me laugh! There are folks out there that knit with kitty and puppy fur. We're getting a pretty good collection of critter fur around here, too!

Regarding National Thrift Store Day, there is one here that we'd love to visit. But, they are never there when the sign says they will be. It is very hit or miss. The couple of times I have caught them there, I saw that they do have some really cool things in there.

Ok, now, I don't want anything at all to do with a spider that has 'raptor' in its name. Somehow I think I would need a much bigger shoe. NOPE and DOUBLE NOPE!

    Have a blessed week. :)
