Regulations are Boring and Other Stuff (Random and Happy Tuesday)

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

The wear and tear of years is coming home to roost.  The other day, something really funny happened, and i told myself the lie, oh, i’ll remember that when it’s time to write up a post for Tuesday.

Yeah, right.

Actually, that’s also how i felt after leaving Dr. D’s house yesterday.  We researched fire hose couplings regulations.  May i suggest you would rather watch paint dry or grass grow.

Well, the way the grass grows around here, you probably could see it sprouting up.

At least watching grass grow wouldn’t leave my head spinning the way this did.

Lately i’ve found myself becoming more of a homebody.  Once i get home, i only want to leave again for certain specific reasons.

That does about sum it up.

We are making a bit of headway on paying Kevin and Lenny for the car repair bills.  That’s why, when on the way home yesterday upon hearing a horrible scraping noise in Lunceford the Land Yacht, i panicked.  Full fledged oh-no-not-again-this-can’t-be-happening-we-can’t-afford-another-repair-bill panic.

Pulling off to the side of the road, i hit the hazard lights and got out to see what part had fallen off and was dragging the ground.  My relief when i saw i had run over a stick and it was caught upright under the tire and was scraping the ground was so great that i laughed, pulled the stick out, and  took perverse delight in throwing it into a nearby bush where it couldn’t do any more harm.

That doggone stick scared me out of years of growth that i can’t afford to lose!

If our cats knew how much we owe on things like car repairs:

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

  1. I hear you.
Though I suspect I was always too old for something.
I am so glad that the noise was easily (and cheaply) fixed.

  4. So glad that repair was a stick. Cars can eat a budget alive. Aging is certainly not for the faint of heart either.

  5. Mimi,

Our car is old but she's a good old gal! She's an 2003 Camry, but we got her in Dec. '02. She's gonna be 16 this year and that's getting up there car years. All I can say Toyota really knows how to build cars! We couldn't be anymore blessed than we are and if she dies tomorrow (heaven, forbid) we couldn't complain too much consider there are some folks who buy a brand new car to find serious issues with their vehicle after only months. I'm happy it was just a stick lodged underneath instead of something that came loose.

We are facing a number of appliance replacements in the next several weeks. First thing is to get a new refrigerator and followed up with a washing machine. These are very old like 20+ years old. The thing is I want simple made appliances but most are loaded with fancy features that I don't want which drives the price up,up and away. I hope we have wonderful success when we finally get around to making a purchase. I know it's going to be a huge headache.
Aging stinks! I don't like that I'm getting older but what can I do about it except accept where I am and counting my blessings that I live to see another day. God is good and I thankful for the glitter in my hair and facial character that comes with time being on my side. Have a happy, randomtastic day!

  8. I so remember those car repair days. They seemed to never end.

I'm glad it was just a stick that was the problem. Something you took care of without money being involved.

Have a fabulous day, my friend. ♥
