Percy (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week and Poetry Monday, Scramble

***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

Percy was found on the streets, very friendly but something bad was wrong with his eye and the person who found him couldn't keep him.  The vet found he was already neutered but no amount of treatment helped his eye and it was removed.

Upon dissecting the eye to see what the problem had been, the vet found a pellet from an air rifle, yes, Percy had been shot.  He's still a sweet, friendly guy and we all hope he gets a good home soon.

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week.  While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Our dear friend Diane is taking a break

accommodations we must make

we miss her poetry and wit

so carry on as Poetry Monday's a hit!

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border Charlotte/Mother Owl and i are keeping it going while she takes a blog break, we hope temporarily.  Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let us know!

This week the theme is Scramble.

The first poem is an Elfje, a poetic form with 11 words in five lines.  Mother Owl/Charlotte has been doing them, and I wanted to try.

*******

Eggs,

maybe fried,

they taste good.

You like them scrambled?

Sgeg!

*******

abbot scrambled eggs

they went out of the fry pan

into the friar

*******

Some like their eggs fried or scrambled,

but mine I will bake,

in my favorite recipes

for cookies, brownies and cake!

*******

Every day is a scramble

a mad dash

a craziness

a never time to rest slog

there has to be a way

to step out

to just sit

to be still.

May it be so, someday.

*******

Future themes are:

July 7 Park

July 14 Salt

  2. Mimi Dear,
After reading your post, I'm still feeling so moved by Percy, poor, poor darling! I hope he'll find all the love he needs and deserves. I wonder what can push a person to shot a cat, I cannot believe there are such kind of men so bad to do such things to an defenseless animal.
All it makes me fell so sad...
    Sending hugs to you

  3. People can be so evil. What pleasure do they get by shooting a cat?

God bless you, Mimi. Thank you for all your good works looking after stray cats and dogs.
