It's been an odd week, and i'm thankful to be at Thankful Day so i can stop and do a bit of a reset.
Grandma and Grandpa's house is torn up from stem to stern, as you would expect with any house being renovated and lived in at the same time, but we were thankful to get at least the bathrooms and kitchenette cleaned and laundry done.
Becca's mom, Ms. A, was sick but we were thankful no one else in the family got it and we were able to go to church. Usually her mom gets her after the service, we were thankful her weekday sitter attends there and was willing to take her to Sunday school and then home.
Mr. Cal was thankful for his walk, and an extra treat for Spoil Your Dog Day.
Carl had the week off and i was thankful he was very cooperative and let me clean his room Monday, only coming in twice.
Monday evening was our monthly ladies' meeting which goes through the summer; it was a comedy of errors getting there because my spare phone won't give me directions and Sweetie's was almost dead and the meeting is in another town but I was most thankful to get there and had a wonderful time.
My yearly check-up appointment with Dr. BowTie went very well. I'm not anemic, have no danger of heart disease or diabetes, have had or will soon have all my screenings for everything else and while i'm sure i have outlived my warranty, i'm probably good for a few thousand more miles yet.
Ms. G, who is a force to be reckoned with when a project is underway, was called upon to help distribute heartworm and flea meds for dogs to whomever she knows who can use it (meaning every small rescue organization within about a hundred miles).
I was thankful to be along for the ride helping pick up and inventory it all, and the rescues are thankful to be able to drop by her house and pick up the supplies easily because they are inventoried and organized.
Ms. V and Carl and i were in each other's way a lot Thursday morning as they packed for their weekend trip. I was thankful we were able to work together and dodge and weave and the cleaning got done in time for me to meet up with my Sweetie and Kevin and Lenny's place and clean their shop, too.
I'm also thankful to be healthy enough to still do long double cleanings.
#2 Son, Daughter-in-Law and our little Annie got home safely from their Alaska adventure. They were most thankful to get home and we are thankful to have them back, as everything was different without them popping up each day, i kept looking for them and they weren't around.
Their luggage, however, did not make it home with them, and they were thankful it arrived just a few hours later. To help out, i was thankful to ride with Daughter-in-Law and Annie to the airport. It's better to have a passenger so you can simply leave the car running at the drop-off area and don't have to pay to park and walk all that way just to get a couple of bags.
Friday they both had to work, i was thankful to get to prayer group, get a quick errand run, and then spend the day babysitting.
The cat shelter was quieter this week but we're no less thankful everything is going okay and i was thankful to get to Ms. GA's after to care for her cats, she and Mr. BA are out of town overnight.
I'm also thankful the two of them get away so often.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

*Yes, they celebrate a hot chocolate festival in the summer. It all started when the 15th of August was a feast day on which the locals always drank a bit much, and the chocolatier of the town claimed his brew was a good remedy the day after. The original festival on the 15th has ceased, but the hot chocolate is brewed to this day, served at 11am promptly.
