***********************************
Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.
This month, yours truly is providing the prompts for Words for Wednesday on my blog.
Since it becomes Wednesday in some parts of the world while it is still Tuesday here, i am providing the prompts as of midnight, Canberra time, so you can work on them and post them when it's Wednesday where you are.
Post your story in the comments here, or in the comments on my Wednesday post, or on your own blog. If you do the latter, please leave us a link so we can come read your story.
Please feel free to use some of the prompts, none of them, or all of them as you see fit. The point is to get the creative juices flowing in whatever manner your muse leads you.
This week's prompts are:
easy
student
invasion
encourage
housing
spectrum
and/or the following archaic words
gaud -- a trinket
moil -- drudgery
pore on -- think about, dwell on thoughtfully
As an additional prompt you may wish to use, Charlotte(MotherOwl) has chosen Straw Yellow as the color of the month.

This is interesting. Will pore on and see what I come up with. I am going to start using moil. What a great word!

ReplyDeleteI always love adding new words to my vocabulary. Thanks for the prompts, can't wait to see what people create!
ReplyDeleteJava Bean: "Ayyy, I have heard 'pore over' plenty of times, but never 'pore on'! Unless we are talking about pouring syrup on pancakes ... Mmm, pancakes ..."
ReplyDeleteInteresting words, I'll get my thinking cap on.
ReplyDeleteVeurem si surt res. ;-)
ReplyDeletePetonets!
Here's mine:
DeleteIn a neighborhood where the HOUSES were STRAW YELLOW, a STUDENT looked towards the horizon. The INVASION of routine felt like a DIRTY TASK that kept him tied to his obligations. However, at that moment, he decided to ENCOURAGE himself and let his mind flow. He thought about the LITTLE THINGS he had found in the market, a bunch of forgotten objects that kept a thousand stories of unknown people. HE STOPPED THINKING that in every corner there is a SPECTRUM of possibilities; sometimes, it is EASIER to find beauty in the everyday and so, between books, he realized that it was worth ATTENTIVELY OBSERVING all things, no matter how insignificant they may seem to us.
Thank you very much!!
Nicely done, Sa Lluna! I always enjoy your take on the prompts.
DeleteMoltes gràcies, Mimi! 🌹
Delete"Don't let how easy the walk has been thus far give you a false sense of security, Thalion. There are challenges ahead that you need to be prepared for. Consider yourself my student as I prepare you for what is ahead, and the invasions that put you on this path. While I never knew my father, or my siblings, I would encourage you to take heed of what I show you in your dreams. The life I had with my mother was at times difficult, and we struggled frequently to find safe housing, I have no regrets for not growing up in the splendor that my siblings knew. If anything, it gave me a much broader spectrum of knowledge for what the people and the land truly need in a leader.
ReplyDeleteIf it were not for the coming of The Grimma again, and the evil of a particular man-kind who views life as some kind of gaud to be possessed and destroyed, I would not have presumed to send you on this quest. But throughout the moil and centuries since my own passing, there have been none more worthy than yourself to bring peace and union to the land.
Pore on what I will share with you as you journey towards your goal, for I gladly share my experiences and knowledge with you.
But first, let me introduce myself so that you may call me something more than 'the voice' or 'the heir' for you, young Master Thalion, are the true heir.
My name is Vondran, and when I was a young man, I had straw yellow hair, the same as yours."
I am glad Vondran has spoken up this way. Thal is in for a difficult adventure and having to try to decipher things from hints and clues makes it harder.
