It stays busy around here, which is why Thankful Day is important, to help me look back and remember all the good moments.
Our trip to Grandma and Grandpa's house last week was good and we're thankful for a reliable car. We did find out Lawrence does need freon (or whatever they are using for freon these days), and we're thankful #2 Son had some and charged it up, which has helped.
Having a car there makes a difference when Grandma wants food from a favorite place where we have to go pick it up. I'm thankful it's very easy for me to do so.
When we got home, our little Annie was in the front yard with her mama and ran to come greet me. I'm thankful she does that.
She also grabbed the car key right out of my hand (she's obsessed with keys, as are most young children) and immediately mashed the red button, setting off the car alarm and scaring herself. I'm thankful she dropped the keys at that point so i could get the alarm to stop, and thankful she now doesn't seem so interested in the red button.
My Sweetie had a moment (or three) of panic when he could not find his wallet as we were about to leave the house. We're thankful it was finally located safely inside the drawer where it belongs, just on the wrong side.
Ms. A was ill again last Sunday. Mr. Cal was thankful this does not affect his walks, he had a great one and met up with his doggie friends, and i was thankful to take the time to run Becca home after church.
Annie and i had a great time Tuesday, we are thankful our walk was early, as it's starting to get too hot to walk unless it's very early or very late.
Ms. G kept us out on errands and i was thankful to see Ms. Fiona for a few minutes as we dropped something off. At Cramco, i was thankful someone helped me heft the case of bottled water into the cart. On our last errand, i'm thankful we got there ahead of the rain, and got back just as it was ending here.
I don't sign up ahead of time for shifts at the shelter, as they know i'll be there and do whatever needs doing. When i showed up for the morning shift this week, someone else had signed up to feed kittens and change litter boxes, so instead i did the rooms.
I was thankful to find out, with the change in room protocols, all i had to do was feed and water the adult cats and scoop their boxes not change them. It's easier and i was done in record time.
Ms. V was up early for class this week and i was thankful, as it means i get to do her room early. I was also thankful for a chance to talk to her about some things i'm doing in Carl's room.
#2 Son, Daughter-in-Law and Annie have left for the weekend, they want to visit their land up in Arkansas and do some chores. I'm thankful after a tussle i got our little girl to take a 45 minute nap, and then played with her so her mama and dada could pack.
Friday evening's shift at the cat shelter saw people adopting, people preadopting, visitors looking, volunteers and staff working amiably, and cats just being cats. We're thankful for good shifts.
