colorful beach huts
lined up as strand sentinels
bring back memories

He said, "I'll be a beach bum
and build a nice beach hut!
I'll use a lot of driftwood
and live on coconuts!"
His beach hut he did build
of wood and many palm leaves,
and he had lots of fun there,
but in the end, he grieves,
Since he was only seven
he had to leave it untended
when his parents took him home
as their vacation ended.

A few weeks after Mom's brother was born she told her mom to take him back as she didn't like having him around. Now whenever her brother makes Gramma mad she reminds her that she should have returned him all those years ago, LOL!
ReplyDeleteOur daughters are 23 months apart in age. I remember shortly after our youngest was born, she wouldn't stop crying. DH was holding the baby trying to comfort her when our oldest said "Take batteries out, Daddy!" We laughed so hard over that and even after all these years make us smile. Kids are so funny! Annie and Ben will be best of buddies. :) Have a blessed week, m'dear! xo

After I got picked up with my pack in Baja and brought to California, the others all got adopted and I got left behind in the shelter, because I was afraid of people and I do a thing called 'submissive grin' when I'm nervous, which looks like snarling. Then Mama came by the shelter while she was volunteering and noticed me and I reminded her of her boy Tucker, so she came to meet me, then she brought Lulu to meet me, then she brought Dada to meet me, and I ended up going home with them. And see, it all worked out!"

ReplyDeleteLittle Annie i allowed t touch and hold his little brother. That helps. In my experience most sibling jealousy stems from overprotective parents.

ReplyDeleteI think Annie does so well because she has many people in her life. Jealousy is more likely when a first child suddenly has to share his or her mother's attention with a new baby instead of having the mother all to herself, or himself. Annie has a wider family and is used to that.
