The Best Laid Plans of Janitors and Cat-Sitters, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

 ***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Sometimes you think you know what your schedule is for a day.

Sometimes you think wrong.

My plan for yesterday was, get out early, get gas at my favorite station where i get points, get to Carl's by 6am, once he left for work (or the sun came up if he didn't have work), go to Ms. G's to take care of Angel and the outdoor critters, go back and finish Carl's, go to Ms. S's across the street, run by the post office, get to the big Mall-Mart, and get to the vet's office before close to get more insulin for the cat, then go home and finish up some research for the Ladies' Circle lesson i'm supposed to teach on "Thy will be done" in The Lord's Prayer.

Then i got a call from Ms. V, Carl's mom.  Could i clean the "front" of the house Monday so they could have company on Tuesday, and do Carl's apartment/room and the back bedrooms on Thursday?

Dodge and weave, right?  Always be ready for the back-up plan when needed.

The gas station was having trouble and was only taking cash.  I had a small amount on me, but it was earmarked for elsewhere and i still have almost half a tank, so i went to Ms. V's.  Carl was home and had left me damp clothes in the dryer, wet clothes in the washer, and dirty clothes on the floor of the laundry room.

After convincing Carl he does not want to be sleeping in the sleep chair in the library while i'm cleaning, get laundry going, his and the kitchen and front bathroom linens, do some dusting and sanitizing doorknobs and light switches, then head to Ms. G's.

On the way, Ms. G texts twice, to ask if i'm at her place yet, and to ask me to call when i get there.  Turns out Angel has a UTI, received a long-acting antibiotic shot and a long-acting steroid, and they're not sure it's working.  I need to measure how much she's drinking, how much she's eating, and keep track of how much is in the litter box.  Oh, and...Ms. G got 3 calls while trying to talk to me, emergencies people in town want her to come take care of, but she's out of town, so she's having to talk them through what to do themselves.

(Please note she left town to have some time off and privacy to get some work done she can never get to when she's in town and being called constantly for other people's emergencies.  She can run, but she can't hide.)

And Angel actually came out, watched me get her food and water ready, then went and laid down grumpily in front of her mother's chair.  She's not happy her mama is gone again.

What should have been a half hour at her house turned into an hour plus.

Finally back at Ms. V's, i tried to pick up where i left off.  It all went pretty well, but now being behind in everything, and since the house takes longer than Carl's room even if i'm not doing the back of the house, i called Sweetie and asked him to pick up the insulin, as i was concerned about making it before they close for the day and we only had one dose left in the house.

Ms. V popped up a bit after 10am (boy, retirement must be nice!) to make sure she paid me before i was to go across to Ms. S's place.

By the time i got there, i was running quite late, and by the time i finished working and we finished talking, it was time to get to the post office and drop off the letter i needed to mail (you can't put them in the mailbox in front of your house, people steal them to see if you put money or gift cards in there, then throw them away).

When you're late, you're going to be later.  Two friends were there and wanted to talk.

By now, there's no time to go to the big MallMart, it's going to be the smaller grocery store which was crowded enough.

Once home, it was time to cram 6 pages of research and notes into two pages.

Can we say it wasn't exactly easy?  Not from start to finish.  But it all turned out just as it should have.

How about some funnies.

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

Halloween Plans and Many Grins, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

**********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

We have fun plans for The Great Neighborhood Candy Exchange night.  Red-headed Alec and company, including Toddler Lee and several friends, will be here to trick-or-treat in our neighborhood.

As usual, i will set up outside to give treats and get to enjoy seeing all the kids.  Yes, i do have allergy free treats for those who need them.

This little sweetheart will be there, too, dressed as a dragon:

Little Girl made her Halloween Bark, and has been giving it away liberally:

Work for Dr. D yesterday included only one trip to the bank, two trips to the post office, and three different encounters with the checkout at the MallMart.  The less said about it all, the better.

And finally, a few more funnies that Grandma sent:
