It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Walking into Carl's room yesterday, i stopped in surprise. It was astoundingly tidy, at least for him. Over the last 3 weeks, i've had to stay an extra hour twice, which means he has to pay me more. We've figured out what works, hit him in the wallet and he'll try to pick up after himself more!

Don't worry, he'll never keep it to a level where he doesn't need help, especially
when you pick up the mouthwash cap and forget and just turn it over to put it back on the mouthwash and get splashed with mouthwash all over, which you then have to clean.
As you can see, he even uses shirts for pillowcases, and still puts dirty laundry mixed with clean in the closet.
Then there's trying to convince him to get rid of some things.
Note the date on the book, 2002. When i told him he could probably safely get rid of it, he said, "But I could still learn from it!"
He tries though, and that's what counts.
Yesterday he fussed about not having socks in the bathroom with him when he went in for his shower. "I need socks!" he wailed. They're dry, i'm folding them, and i'll have a pair on top of the bureau for you as soon as you come out of the bathroom, i told him.
The pair was there, he put a hanger on top of them and walked around barefoot cooking breakfast.
Breakfast was French toast that he almost burnt, with 2 kinds of jam, dried fruit, applesauce and syrup (five pieces of toast, a different topping for each, of course). Followed by yogurt with granola, and several queries into what i'd packed for lunch and was it enough. A sandwich, two protein bars, Skittles and a fruit cup, plus tea and water.
"Well, that should do," he said. Then added, "My friend Ann and I are going to Costco later."
What, i asked, do you get at Costco?
"I don't get anything, I just go with her to get samples!" he responded, licking his lips and rubbing his tummy.
A messy man who loves to eat is job security. Especially when it comes time to vacuum and you can find crumbs behind the dresser.
