Random on Saturday

It's time for another visit to NOLA to see Grandma and Grandpa.  Two weeks ago, i took Little Girl and she and i cleaned out the kitchen cabinets.  Although i've offered to clean the pantry closets this time, i think Grandma just wants to visit.

There will be a quick errand first, and i hope to have pics of that later.

Meanwhile, a few days ago, the Jalopy was making noises that told me to get the power steering fluid checked.  It was very, very low, and they topped it off.

The noises are back, so while i'm in NOLA in Humphrey the Honda, Sweetie will take the Jalopy to Kevin and Lenny and see what they say.  My hope is that it's something easily (read, cheaply) fixed.

A good many people whose homes were flooded out are trying to be back in their places by Christmas.  This is keeping me (and Bigger Girl and even Red-headed Alec) very busy with cleaning empty houses, as well as all of the regular work.  If you've never had to get the mud from floating sheetrock off of windows where someone did it incorrectly, i don't recommend it.

On a completely different note, #1 Son went to see the new Star Wars movie, and he recommends it.  That's all i will say (he gave me details, he knows i don't take time to go to movies), if you want a spoiler, you can get it online.  If you don't want a spoiler, go see it soon.

  1. You know Mimi, I've never seen a " Star Wars " movie. I guess I just never cared much about the movie. Oh well. So the old jalopy is causing some problems. You better get the entire engine checked in cause of problems. My Camero is now put into the garage for the winter. Bumble Bee has never seen any snow in it's entire life and I will make sure that there will be no snow at all.

Enjoy your Saturday my friend. See ya.

  2. After all these years I've run out of enthusiasm for anything Star Wars related.

  3. I can remember standing in long lines with my son to see these movies. Not anymore. I just don't care. I can't remember the last time hubby and I went to a movie. Years and years.

I hope the jalopy is an easy and cheap fix. I hate car troubles. I can remember having tons of issues back in the day.

Have a fabulous day and an even better visit with grandma and grandpa. ☺

  4. Sounds like you are busier than ever this season. I hope that the weekend will be a time of rest and enjoying family. I also hope your car issue is minor, I always hold my breath when they make a noise or do something strange. Wishing you a beautiful Christmas!

  5. Cleaning dried mud off of anything doesn't sound fun. Hope you had a nice visit with your grandparents.

  6. My son saw the Star Wars movie yesterday with his friends. Their first solo outing without parental supervision! Oye. There was a minor glitch, but overall they did okay and all definitely gave the movie 2 big thumbs up. Hopefully I can see it over the holidays.
It's so cold up here, one of our vans won't even start! We have to give it a boost every time.
