The Trip They Never Forgot (Six Sentence Story), Taking a Peek (Good Fences), Variety is the Spice of Ice (Sammy's Poetry Day) and Almost Done (Brian's Thankful Thursday)

***********************************

The young mother and her mom had boarded with the tiny child, hot, tired, and already wanting the trip to be over.  The baby was happily babbling, oblivious to the fact that this was a momentous occasion, her first train ride.

About halfway through the trip, the inevitable happened, and baby had to, shall we put it euphemistically, do a doodle in her cloth diaper.  While juggling the child and the new diaper (in the days before changing tables were ubiquitous), the situation became more, well, interesting, as two very firm turds rolled out of the diaper onto the floor and toward the seats ahead, coming to a stop right next to the very nice dress shoes of one of the men sitting in front of them.

The two ladies spent the rest of the trip trying to surreptitiously coax the two errant pieces of poop back toward them, all the while trying not to laugh and draw attention to themselves.

Eventually they succeeded, and to say it was a trip they never forgot was putting it mildly.

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Train.

Gosia at Looking for Identity has taken over Good Fences, and it's now Good Fences Around The World.  Post a picture of a fence or gate, link back to her blog, and go visit other blogs to see what interesting fences there are out in this big world.

A neighbor's fence is being repaired, so how about a rare peek behind it.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poem:

Step right up, folks!

We have what's right

For every taste

And appetite!

Every flavor

You can dream

We have it here

In the form of ice cream.

  21. I remember always putting plastic pants with elasticised legs over cloth nappies, most people here did, if we were going to be travelling anywhere. Nothing ever fell out. I hope I never have to give a eulogy speech, I would just stand there and cry.
