Usually Not a Speedy Person (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy's Poetry Day, and Brian's Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

If Ms. G really wants to, she can move at speed, but often i wish i could get her to light a fire under herself and pick up the pace.

Yesterday, when we were at the storage unit picking up a few items she's found a home for, including two outdoor chairs she's figured out she can use, it was so hot out there she didn't waste any time as she loathes being hot.

Once we got back to the house and it was time for us to tackle the junk in the spare room again, it was back to the snail's pace, one item at a time, decide which box to pack it in, do we have any smaller boxes, etc.

Also, for many items take a picture, check and see how much it's worth online (for the third or fourth time), does she keep it and try to sell it, and if so, where to put it, oh, and there are all the Christmas presents she bought for the niece and great niece, she can give them these this year instead, and so on.

We spent a couple of tedious hours (to me, at least) in the spare room listening to April cat howl to be let in (she jumps on and breaks stuff and is banned from here and the library) doing this kind of sorting bit by bit, but there's good news.

While doing all this she had an idea and called a friend who has a trash and treasure shop as well as some shelves at another store where she sells things, and she agreed she could probably sell a lot of it there, so we actually packed several boxes and got them into her car for her to take out there once i went home!

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

This tiny fence caught my eye.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:

Their bucket list was Italy

for a spark in their romance,

but with their serious jet lag,

they didn't stand a chance!

I'll just keep on floating them

until they wake and then

I'll drop them at a tourist spot

to start over again!

Angel Brian's Family of Brian's Home - Forever hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am simply thankful no one was hurt when my Sweetie's front passenger tire fell off the car the other day.  We still don't know if it can be fixed or for how much, but one thing at a time is all we have to handle, and that's another thankful.

Somebody Find My Sanity, Please (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy’s Poetry Day, and Brian’s Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

This is my life right now in a nutshell and i give you my word i am not making it up.

Little Ben, eight weeks old, is in the hospital for a bladder infection, and i'm on GG duty as often as needed with Annie while her parents take shifts at the hospital.

Grandma is getting worse and i will now have to drive down there twice a week to help, sometimes spending the night.

Mr. BA and Ms. GA are out of town and i am having to tend their clowder of cats before and after work each day.

My usual workload and church meeting schedule has not changed and the check engine lights are now on in both cars (Lawrence the Honda and Slow-Moe the Pontiac).

This week is the Six Sentence Cafe's Poetry Slam, so somebody please tell my muse to get in here and give me something to work with, i would like to do more than just watch and serve snacks, although that may end up being what happens.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:

We're going to set a record

and we know we can,

height is not the only

measure of a man.

We're going to pull this plane

the number of yards required,

all the ones who say we can't,

they just make us tired.

We're tough and we can prove it

to all who want to see,

and when we're in the Guinness book

then we'll all laugh with glee!
