It’s Carnival Time (Wordless Wednesday) and Words for Wednesday

 ***********************************

Linking up with Wordless Wednesday and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

***********************************

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided by Hilary Melton-Butcher and are being post by Elephant's Child.

This week's prompts are:

  1. 'Chrome Yellow'
  2. Shell
  3. Experience
  4. Art
  5. Toxic
  6. Coincidence

And/or

  1. Frost
  2. Turnip
  3. Bevy
  4. Jaunt
  5. Map
  6. Daffodil

“Where are you off to now?” he asked as she dug the keys out of her purse.

“Just a little JAUNT to the paint store,” she replied.  “I’m still not satisfied with the color for the room.  I want more of a DAFFODIL and less of a CHROME YELLOW.  Want to come along?

“To pick a color?  No, that’s your area of EXPERTISE, I’d be happy with SHELL or even TURNIP if there are such colors...”

“There are, and they’re rather unsuitable,” she said with a touch of FROST in her voice.

“Exactly!  You are the ART and color expert, I don’t relish a visit to see a BEVY of paint colors that mostly look about the same to me.  However!  If the MAP I carry in my head is correct, I do believe it’s no COINCIDENCE there’s a barbecue restaurant near that paint store.  And since it’s approaching suppertime, or rather, it will be by the time you drive all the way over there and finish perusing colors, I believe I can say with some certainty that we’ll both be hungry about then and you don’t want to have to come home and cook.”

“You could cook something,” she said with a smirk.

“Only if you want TOXIC swill,” he grinned.

“Yes, the last time you cooked it was rather noxious,” she mused.

“That’s why we agreed that in the kitchen you do the cooking and I do the cleaning, but tonight, I propose we both get the night off.”

“Promise you won’t make me rush to choose a color just to get to the restaurant faster?”

“On my honor.”

“Let’s go!”

  3. Food is always a good reason to go to a particular store. Sometimes the ideas for cooking are just not there and one really wants to grab a meal elsewhere.
