Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey is on a blog semi-break and her poetry is sorely missed, we hope she comes back soon.   Charlotte/Mother Owl participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in at least once a month, too.  Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let Diane know!

This week the theme is Genius Day.

Everyone's a genius,

or that's what i've been told.

When i stop and think about it,

that's a statement very bold.

But when you look at this world

and the many things we need

it would be a good thing

if it were true indeed.

We need geniuses at raising

the crops to feed us all,

geniuses at teaching reading

so we'll all be on the ball.

Geniuses to make all of

the stuff we use each day,

and genius mathematicians

so computers don't go away.

Geniuses at cooking

our taste buds they can tickle,

and geniuses at law so that

we don't get in a pickle.

Everyone's a genius

at something in some way,

if we all contribute our genius

the world will see a better day.

  1. My Angel used to climb too. I like your poem and sometimes wish I was a genius, or at least smarter.

  3. Sadly, that quote is so true! Mom really can't deal with negative people. She is a very positive person and by nature avoids negative people. That kitten is awesome. Love its furs and it would be ideal for a pet to provide some fun and laughs!

  5. The poem is correct. I feel that I'm a genius in some manner. My wife is a genius and so are my children. Everyone within our life are geniuses. The only ones that are not a genius are the ones like Putin, or China's Xi and any tyrant or want to tyrant.
