Lost and Found, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

 ***********************************

For many it was a short week, but that doesn't mean being short on Thankful things.

As usual, i cleaned Carl's room on Monday.  My celebration of Independence includes earning my keep, and i'm thankful to be able to do that.

#1 Son's car needed maintenance, he dropped it with Kevin and Lenny and i let him use GusGus die Fledermaus to go to NOLA and visit Grandma and Grandpa.  We're thankful all the car needed was maintenance.  Meanwhile, Sweetie and i ran errands in Lunceford the Land Yacht, and we're very thankful to have a second vehicle for such occasions.

The remainder of the week was a "loss."  By that i mean, we have a lot of things we lost that we are thankful were found again.

Brother-in-Law called in a driving rainstorm and told Sweetie he'd lost his car key, he thought maybe it was locked in his car.  Sweetie grabbed the spare and went to his rescue, and they couldn't find it anywhere in the car.  When B-i-L backed out, he was looking in just the right spot and saw the key on the pavement, it had dropped under his vehicle.  We're thankful we have the spare (properly put away for the next possible emergency) and that he found the main key.

Sweetie was at the kitchen table when the rescue call came, and after he got off his phone he put it down, as he is wont to do, and promptly forgot where it was.  He then grabbed my phone on the way out the door, since they both have the same case (mine has since been marked).  After he left, i began looking for my phone.  Just about when i was going to panic and call to have my phone blocked by the company for safety, i found his phone and called mine.  Sure enough, all was well, and i was thankful.

As with his misplacing his phone, Sweetie often misplaces other things.  This week he walked into the house with a sports drink, and promptly lost it.  We're thankful he found it, in the refrigerator where he'd accidentally put the water pitcher in front of it, effectively hiding it from himself.

Then there was my wallet.  While on a job with Ms. G, i set down my vest, with my keys and wallet, and we worked on putting a refrigerator back together.  As we left, we were taking so much of Ms. G's equipment with us that i forgot to grab the vest.

Later, when i noticed it was missing, we went back for it, but as a precaution, you guessed it, i went ahead and called to cancel my debit card, just in case.

Thankfully i found the vest, keys, and wallet, and the next day the nice teller at the bank made a new debit card for me for no charge, as i'd found the turned in the old one.

This week was my follow-up visit with Dr. BowTie regarding my blood pressure.  He's pleased with how the new meds are working together to keep my pressure lower, but not so low that he has to be concerned i'll get dizzy or pass out.  This means i don't have to go back until my regular check-up at the end of the year, a very thankful thing.

We're thankful to have had Jock here, it's nice to have a grand-dog in the house sometimes.  #2 Son is thankful to have had a great trip to Alaska, although i haven't heard all the details yet.

The cats are, or will be, thankful when they realize the dog's visit is over.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

  1. It seems it was a very hectic day for everyone. Forgetting is for everyone. I worry about everything when I go out. I double check every time I go out.
