No Slowing Down, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

It's Thankful day and the end of the year is seeing no slowdown in the amount of things for which to be thankful.

Last Saturday was supposed to be Lee's 6th birthday party, but Red-headed Alec had to put it off.  Instead they came and saw me and I'm thankful I was able to visit with them both and give Lee his birthday gift and give both of them Christmas gifts.  The little guy is his daddy made over!

Ms. JAI's middle son visited with her for Thanksgiving, and we're both thankful for that.  I'm also thankful she let me come over Monday even though it was the anniversary of her youngest son's death.

I got the guest bed changed and the bathrooms and kitchen cleaned and mopped, and while I was there the impossible happened, her youngest daughter called!  This is the first time in months.

She also told me one of her granddaughters is not only actually speaking to her again, but has promised she and her husband are coming on Christmas Day and they are bringing and cooking the whole dinner!

Ms. D's daughter was visiting from San Antonio when i went this week and we were thankful to finally meet and talk a bit and do a couple of projects for Ms. D.  Although she calls her mother every day and can even track her location on her Apple watch, Steph is glad to know i'm just a few doors down and she has my number so she can call and ask me to run by and check on her mom any time.

Ms.G was preparing for another trip in the camper, i'm thankful the shelter work went quickly and we were able to get a lot done.

Her cat, Angel, is not cooperating in the whole process.  The trip had to be postponed because Angel came down with a urinary tract infection.  I'm thankful Ms. G didn't leave exactly when planned so she was able to get Angel to the vet quickly.

i'm also thankful her plan now, if Angel is better, is to leave Sunday.

Ms. SE sent me a text Wednesday night telling me she'd forgotten to let me know she was in the hospital for neck surgery!  I'm thankful she texted, thankful her mom was with her and was able to bring her home Thursday, and thankful Sweetie and i were able to alter our usual cleaning plan to get her bedroom, bathroom, and the whole back hallway of the house and rooms off of it done before she got there.  She was able to go straight to her room and rest and not worry about us at all as we cleaned the front of the house.

Between Thursday night and Friday morning we had quite a bit of rain, we're thankful because it was much needed.  I'm thankful it stopped before i had to leave for prayer group.

In the middle of the afternoon i got a text from Little Girl asking if i was home.  I was and she came by, the first time i've seen her in a couple of months.  It was lovely to catch up and we've figured out which day we're going to meet up at Grandma and Grandpas right before Christmas.

The shelter was buzzing Friday evening with people looking to adopt, people taking cats home, and people coming in "just to look."  We're thankful for plenty of volunteers and when the place is busy, it's just fun.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
