A Busy Week With a rEcess On Top, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

 ***********************************

Some weeks i get to Thankful Day and say, whew, that’s a lot.  This is one of them.

Grandpa totally forgot last Saturday it was our day to go to the store.  Since he didn’t need anything, and Grandma didn’t either, and i could wait and go later back home, i was thankful to skip it and get the work done faster.

When i turned in the rental this week, we made a reservation for the wedding weekend, and i was thankful to get a confirmation number.

Saturday is also when #2 Son, Daughter-in-Law and little Annie headed up for a whirlwind trip to see a piece of land they might want to buy with a view to moving out of state.  I was thankful that night for the text they arrived safely.

Sunday i was thankful Becca and Mr. Cal and i had a good morning, and in the afternoon i was thankful to hear from #2 Son.  They love the place, and put in an offer which was verbally accepted before they left!

This was also the day i learned about the death of our blogging friend Sue, hostess of Words for Wednesday and Sunday Selections.  I'm very sad she's gone and very thankful for the kindness and beauty she brought to my life.

On Monday at Ms. D's house, i was thankful to help her with "those little projects which rattle around in the back of my brain and give me fits until they are done," as she told me.

While watching our little Annie on Tuesday, her mom and i talked.  I am always thankful to be with Annie, and our talk was about the land they want to purchase.  I'm thankful they seem to be making a wise choice, and they are getting good land for a decent price.

Ms. G had a doctor's appointment Wednesday so i finished early and was able to stop and pay a bill at a doctor's office which has been hanging over me for a couple of weeks with no time to stop before.  It's always a thankful to get these things out of the way and done.

Late Wednesday evening i found out Grandma and Grandpa's dog, Lulu, had finally succumbed to her cancer.  Again, i am sad she's gone, thankful she was in our lives for so long, and thankful she didn't suffer as she was chasing birds and jumping for treats all the way until about two days before she died.

You know school is back in session when Ms. SE's house falls apart, and it fell apart hard this week.  I'm thankful the work isn't usually this bad, especially as we have Ms. GA after.

I had four errands which needed running on Friday and i'm thankful my Sweetie did them so i could care for Annie again.

Then there was rEcess, the biggest one we've had in a long time.  I was thankful we had four lasagnas, a huge salad and plenty of bread and dessert as we had 22 volunteers and six special children to care for, plus their siblings, for a total of close to 50 of us!  It was glorious mayhem, and we love every minute.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.   https://wakefielddoctrine.com/

Today is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi.  He's the Patron of animal welfare societies, animals, birds, ecologists, ecology, environment and environmentalists, families, lace makers/lace workers, merchants, needle workers, peace, tapestry workers, zoos; Italy, especially Assisi, as well as several other cities around the world; against dying alone, fire.

Many Roman Catholic churches celebrate his day with a Blessing of the Animals ceremony.

This also means it is World Animal Day.

Thanks to Barb Kowalik and The Cat Blogosphere for the event badge.
