It's been another full week, giving me an abundance on Thankful Day.
It began at the end of last week when, last minute, Slow-Mo the car needed a tire desperately. We're thankful for Kevin and Lenny to the rescue.
Of course, car repairs are always a "hypograt" in a sense, we're thankful for the fix, but not for the repair bill part of it.
We had a good day in NOLA cleaning Grandma and Grandpa's house, i was actually able to get the work done a bit early and was thankful to sit with Grandma until her nap time.
It was another beautiful Sunday with a delightful walk with Becca and Mr. Cal, church was inspiring as always and the evening was spent with a little Annie who is trying very, very hard to stand up on her own, and often succeeding for longer than just a second or two.

Not standing, but was a bit ago. |
Monday was the kind of day where you're thankful you don't have that kind of day often. The phone rang or dinged more than i care to remember, but i'm thankful:
Ms. Genie texted to tell me yes, i did sign up to bring something to the meeting Tuesday (after she assured me last week i hadn't signed up for anything), at least now i had time to get the items
my Sweetie took the cat to the vet, and then went back there and made an appointment for her surgery, and then finally told me their phones were not working so i'd quit trying to call them
#1 Son needed a new battery for his car and #2 Son was able to help him get the car jumped to get it to Kevin and Lenny's when my Sweetie couldn't be reached because he was at the vet with the cat
One of the fun things about my job is often talking with clients who can be very fun and funny. Mr. D came in from the casino on Monday while i was vacuuming and we exchanged pleasantries. He went on to say he'd lost that day (he goes once a week with a preset amount, if it's gone, he's gone), and then joked, "I know, I'll borrow some money from you!"
I'm thankful for clients with a sense of humor, and thankful he laughed when my answer was, of course, my name is mom, it means 'made of money!'
Tuesday's ladies circle went well, since there was no last minute scramble to get the cards i was supposed to provide for our homebound members. I was thankful for that and the lesson went well. It's always a concern when i'm teaching, did i prepare enough? Thankfully, i did.
I'm also thankful i'm still in pretty good shape, as i had to almost hike to the meeting. It's held at an independent living center which is huge, and there were no visitor parking spaces available nearby.
After the meeting i raced home to watch our little Annie for her mama to have an appointment and while i was thankful to be on time, it was bittersweet the moment i got there to receive a call from the vet.
Our Tripod SissyCat did not survive the surgery, it was supposed to be a tooth removal but the 19-year-old cat had a tumor, probably inoperable, and she would only suffer if we tried to do anything.
We were very thankful for having her from age 8 to age 19.
Wednesday was a bit of a break as Ms. G was out of town. I had gone over each day just to feed the cats and critters, give everyone water, clean boxes, but since Wednesday is our usual cleaning day, i decided with an empty house i'd go after some of the places which can get overlooked when she and i are running around doing other projects than the cleaning.
I was thankful to get everything out from under the recliner, and thankful to get home a bit early because when i was done, i was done!
A busy Thursday saw several reasons to be thankful, Ms. V got up early so i was able to start the bedding in the wash right away, Mr. L moved just exactly in time for me to get to the bathroom back there, and i was exactly right on time for my Sweetie and i to get to Kevin and Lenny's just after their lunch break.
We were thankful to get their place done in just over 2 hours!
The usual Friday of getting to take care of our baby again was followed by getting a rental car for the weekend and then going to the cat shelter. We were thankful for a plethora of volunteers, instead of doing food and water for the kittens, i ended up doing all the glass in the colony room doors and then wiping down the doors themselves, they were getting a bit grimy. I'm always thankful to be able to help in any capacity.
Then i came home just in time. #2 Son had patiently directed his father (my Sweetie) to find certain documents in their safe, and my Sweetie, who doesn't always understand directions well, found them and photographed them and then was at a loss for how to sent them back to #2 Son's phone. I'm thankful i got there and was able to forward them right that moment, to the relief of both of them.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
