Many of the people in my life are big on using the word, "need," in almost any and every context.
Grandma once fussed at me and started in, "You need..."
I interrupted with, No, i do not need that, it is a want, what i need is a relationship with my Savior, Jesus, clean air to breathe, sufficient clean water for drinking, cooking and bathing, sufficient healthy food to sustain life, clothing and shelter sufficient to my culture and climate, education and work sufficient to help me provide for the needs which are not free, a reasonable amount of health care, fellowship with other believers and with family and friends, and a good Bible. Anything else is a want, plain and simple, or is something it would be nice to have, an extra, and if i get those things, great, if not, well, maybe i can earn or be given them someday.
She gave me her best mom look, but i'm a mom, too, and it doesn't work on me any longer.
Maybe one of the biggest problems we have in this old world is we don't know the difference between what we truly need, and what we only want.
Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Need.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!
Another seasonal fence, here for a short time, and it's a very small, low fence.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
I thought I'd learned the language enough,
now I see there is no way,
if I'm going to be a tourist here,
I'm hiring a guide today!

Angel Brian's Family of Brian's Home - Forever hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. It's time to share something for which i am thankful.
Today i am thankful we haven't touched my Sweetie's retirement account because now we need a bit for a biggish important repair we could not afford otherwise, and it is there for us. I am also thankful we know the difference between an emergency and a need and a want!
