“Oh, it’s just the usual.  Everything went PERPENDICULAR when my brother came in town.  Instead of being able to spend the night down there, we will do the DIZZY DASHING into town twice to get it all done.  After all, we know that i’m LANGUISHING for more to do.”

“I thought your daughter was going to go early, VIRTUOUS  child that she is and always wanting to help.”

“She is, and of course brother is there and his daughter.  Grandma, however, doesn’t see that as a STABLE  enough work crew, and we have to make everything as complicated as a THEATRE production.  No PEDESTRIAN Thanksgiving celebration for us!”

“What does Grandpa think about all of it?”

“You know him.  In his LACONIC way he will let what he thinks be known, that Grandma is making too much fuss and too much work, but not directly.  As long as everyone turns to when it’s time to go out and tend to the ORANGE trees, he’s okay.”

“By the way, does he still have that old TYPEWRITER in his office?”

“No, he donated it.  He’s not only saving of his words, he doesn’t keep anything around he doesn’t have to have, and Grandma finally taught him to use the computer to print stuff instead of that.  Sorry.”

“It’s okay, just thought I would ask.  Have a great Thanksgiving!”

Copies and Messages and Random Funnies, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.  http://stacyuncorked.com

The work assignment was simple.  Go to the cousin's publishing office and use the copy machine to make two copies.  So simple.

The machine is supposed to be the kind that will do everything including collate or copy two sided to separate pages.

The machine was used by Noah to copy the ark plans, the toner cartridge won't stay in place, it gets paper jams after every 2-3 sheets, and when i opened the lid, found bug droppings.

Yes, i got it done, copying one page at a time, flipping it over, copying the other side, collating myself, and re-counting every page of both documents to make sure nothing got missed.

That was the easy part.  The hard part was going over each page line by line looking for errors (it was about her lawsuits), and we found a doozy.  It will be duly reported to Dr. D's lawyers.

On to other considerations.  We are still trying to figure out who will be where on which day this week.  Uncle J and Bryn are going to be at Grandma and Grandpa's house on Wednesday (and through the whole week), and Little Girl is going then, too, so it looks like Sweetie and i don't have to rush down there, get stuff done, come home, and go back Thursday.  It will be like a vacation if it works out that way!

Little Girl, looking at the calendar yesterday, "Wait, Grandpa's birthday was last Friday?"

To which i replied, yes, and i sent you a text.

"No, you didn't!"

At which point i showed her that i sent the same good morning text to each of the children, a happy picture that said, "hooray, it's Friday" and a message under it reminding them it was in fact his birthday.

"I don't read the texts, I just look at the pictures you send!" she wailed.

That, i pointed out, is not my fault, as i can only send the message, not make her read it.  She better be helping me make the hojaldras this year, she owes him one.
