Silly Sunday: Depends on what you look for!

Silly Sunday is hosted by Sandee, of Comedy Plus.

Silly Sunday is the place to come for weekly laughs.  The rules are simple, just have fun.

This is a great opportunity to get to know other bloggers and have a laugh or two in the process.

Here is how it works: Laugh and Link Up!
1. Post a joke.
2. Link Up with the URL to your joke in the Linky Tools Widget.
3. Read my joke.
4. Leave a comment to tell me how much you enjoyed my joke.
5. Try and visit a few others participating in Silly Sunday.
6. Go to Sandee's site, linked above, and get the Silly Sunday code for your blog, too!

Now, about that leak i discussed yesterday.  It happened at the end of the month, at a time when we had more than run out of money.  It was going to be a big deal, coming up with the co-pay for the home warranty when i had two other bills due at the same time.

Then there was a minor miracle.  While deleting old emails that i'd not gotten to, mostly ads, i noticed one from the mortgage company that had the words "escrow rebate" in the subject line.  What?  Turned out they had sent us a check!

The mortgage is automatically deducted every month, and they send us a paper receipt which i file to reconcile at the end of the year when i do the taxes.  So i generally don't open them until January or February.  Checking back to the receipt sent in October, sure enough, there was a check with enough to cover the $75 deductible to pay the plumber and more for one of the other bills!

Boudreaux an' his fam'ly have dem dey own trouble wit' money some time, too.  One time, Tee Boudreaux done lost his contact lens when he be outside wrasslin' wit' Phideaux de Catahoula cur dog.

Tee done spent him a half hour lookin' an' lookin' fo' dat lens, den he come in, hangin' his head, an' confess to his mama, Clothile, "Mamere, I done lost my contact lens, an' I been lookin', an' I cain't find it, an' I know it be expensive, an' I be sorry!"

Clothile not say her a word, she jes' go out dere an' start lookin', an' in five minute she done got dat lens!

"It be a mir'cle!  How you do dat?" Tee ax.

"Mais, it be simple," Clothile say.  "You be lookin' fo' a little piece o' plastic, but I be lookin' for $150!"

  5. Most excellent that it covered what you needed! We usually have the reverse, we get a bit of funds ahead, then something breaks... Sigh. That joke is probably more true than some folks would like to admit to... Hee hee.
