Random and Fun Tuesday

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

Tuesday is the day for Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Tuesday Fun with Sandee of Comedy Plus.

Let me begin with a shout-out to Cathy of Curious as a Cathy.  No matter what, i cannot comment on your blog!  The fact is, Wordpress hates me even though i have an account.  Just know that i am reading, and if you want to contact me at my email, messymimi at live dot com, i will try to send you my comments via email.

On Saturday, i posted about #1 Son needing to pay a bill.  It was a rather complicated situation.

This month, he and his roommate recommended a third person to live in their apartment.  Most apartments at his complex have three rooms, which are rented out separately, each person has his/her own lease, bedroom, bathroom, and they share the kitchen and living area.  #1 Son and roommate had an empty room, which means the complex is not making money on that room.

According to the way that apartment complex is run, if you recommend a person to move in and s/he is accepted, you get $200 off on your rent.  #1 Son had paid his rent on June 30, minus the $200, and the manager who took the money order from him said that was right.

Last Tuesday, the 10th, #1 Son got a call asking why he was late on $200 of his rent.  He told the female manager what had happened, and she told him that the discount applies the second month after the person has moved in, so he was technically late and would have to pay a $50 late fee.

He responded that not only was it not noted in the lease or any of the promotional materials that the discount was the second month, he was told by the manager on duty that he'd paid the correct amount.  He insisted that the fee be waived.

She said she didn't have the authority to do that, and he told her to find out who did and take care of it, because he was not paying the late fee.  The money order he bought that day was for the $200, the male manager who had originally taken his rent back on June 30 admitted he was at fault, and they have not yet asked for the late fee.  So far, he seems to have won this, we are hoping.

For a few funnies, this is how i feel right now about the management of that apartment complex:

This is how i feel when i think about our cars:

Finally, this is how i feel some days when i'm having trouble remembering stuff:

Hope everyone has a great Tuesday!

  3. Mimi,

WP holds your comments for moderation. I'm clueless as to why this happens to. I try to approve yours and others quickly as possible. Unfortunately, I'm not super fast. :( I appreciate your mentioning to here to me and I will do a little Internet research to see why this might be happening.

I'm glad #1 son got the late fee taken care of. I often wonder how anyone makes it in this world with all the confusion, like what you described between the two managers. There isn't a day that goes by where I don't run into or hear about these things going on. It's so crazy. I get someone making a goof once in a while but the onslaught of people not knowing or understanding how something works boggles the mind.

All I can say is thank you Mr. Carrier for the invention of the AC!!! I often comment to DH about Victorian women and how miserable they must have been in the summer. I'm ready to stripe off my clothes and join a nudest colony by mid-summer. Yeah, that's a revolting thought but I figured if everyone's doing then they won't mind seeing me in my birthday suit too much...I hope. :D Happy random and thanks for stopping by yesterday!

  4. I hope your son will not be charged the late payment due to no fault of his. I like the one about learning new things and forgetting about the ones. Have a great day!

  5. That late fee issue is so annoying indeed. I hope your son can waive it. I would definitely do the same thing and insist! Love the memes you have here...and I just know that UAE offer a gram of gold for 1 kg of weight loss back in 2013! What an incentive :)

  9. I'm glad Cathy weighed in. I've seen this happen from time to time on my blog. I don't have comment moderation on, but often I'll find them and have to approve them. It make me scratch my head.

I'm hoping your son won this one too. How awful when things happen and not everyone in the office knows.

    Love all your funnies.

Have a fabulous day, my friend. ♥

  11. I hope it works out for your son. Clearly he doesn't owe a late fee. I hate dealing with businesses where the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Very frustrating.

  12. My sons apartments are rented that way, too. Each BR has its own lease. I like that! Hope they waive the late fee. They certainly should, and what does it matter if he takes the 200 off this month or next. Either way, it comes out the same. I really relate to the learning 1 thing and forgetting 5!
